A friend of mine bought a new jw8700 led headlite for his 08 ultra. When he installed it,it flickers when the ignition switch is turned on.I read the websites he sent me,but i haven't a clue on electrical problems. The web sites for the most part say they are just a simple plug in.Anybody have any ideas on what could eliminate the flickering? Thanks

....just a guess, but, I would look for a loose connection or ground wire. On a side note...LED lighting requires les voltage, and some need an in line voltage reducer to work properly. Does the flickering subside after it runs for 30 seconds?
For sure try to contact the mfg. about this issue, see what they say. I am curious about this...please post a follow-up when you figure it out.

I just talked to the guy.He took the headlight out & put the stock one back in.But yes it quit flickering after it was started up.He said he checked the wires & the grounds. He said he talked to the nearby H-D dealer & i think he's going to take it to them some time next week when they get an opening.I'm going to go to his place maybe this wkend & put it in my trike & see if it does the same thing. Thanks for the response aba.

Went riding with my buddy & a few of his friends Sunday. He tried his JW light in there bikes & it did the same in all 3.So instead of taking his bike in to have it checked out,he's sending the light back today. He tried the h-d daymaker yesterday at a H-D dealer we stopped at & it worked good. But they didn't have a black one in stock. So he'll be ordering one from his local dealer today.

That's also what i was told yesterday by several different people. The way i see it,I have to much other things that need fixing on these that i don't need to be fixing things that aren't broken!
