hello all just joined and wanted to say hay. at this time I'm riding an 81 cb750 but I've been doing a lot of recearch on vw trikes. as my handle states it's time to get off 2 wheels and I've always had a long distance love affair with vw trikes. not being much a a wrencher i do not know where to begin on bilding one and all the ones i've seen for sale seem to have alot of problems or are way out of my price range, with that being said does anyone have any advice where i sould begin? not interested in anything fancy, good running , running straight, stopping, and starts when i want it to are the most important.

THANKS ALL AND RIDE SAFE

Welcome to the board, U might want to look at this thread about VW trikes..

VW Based Trikes - Trike Talk Forum

Also if U buy a frame or any parts make sure U know what U are getting before money changes hands. I don't think any of us can afford to buy things we are not happy with..

It can be a fun project if U have the time and equipment to do it urself..
Enjoy and keep us posted,, we love pictures.....

Welcome aboard. Glad you found us. This link is to an ad in our For Sale area. I was in contact with this person last week and he still has the VW Trike for sale. He lives in North Dakota and he sent me pictures. It is a very nice looking trike. I was looking for my daughter but she went a different route. The price is real fair and the only issue is getting it shipped. The shipping was $1256 from ND to the Fl Keys. I would of purchased it if my daughter would of liked it. Good Luck

I would recommend that you get a book called (How to keep your Volkswagon alive by John Muir) before or after you get your VW Trike it has great info and insite on vdub's. I got mine a cupple weeks ago and I love it. Good luck with your search.
