In October I contacted Joe, the owner of JES Custom Accents about wind deflectors for the FLRT. He said he was working on it. After a few phone calls and e mails he said I was going to be his test guy. I got a pair from him this week. Their quality is excellent. Well engineered and sturdy. Plus they look good. And they work! I estimate they reduce buffeting by more than 50-60%. I tested at various speeds. The reduced buffeting was at all speeds. I'm a believer of you're on a MC, you get wind, but as a lot of us know the Free is more prone to air from under the tank. I've tried 3 different windshields. None really made a difference. I installed engine bars and put Desert Dawgs on. Didn't help. Engine just ran hotter. I highly recommend these deflectors. I am too much of a tec dummy to post pics but if you go on his web site you'll get an idea what they look like. They're like the ones pictured except they don't have the notched cut outs on the top. I have no affiliation with JES Custom Accents. Just stating my opinion. Joe seems like a stand up guy that put a lot of work into a high quality product that really works.

Thanks for posting this. I sent them three e-mails and never received a response but I will still buy a set if they work! My last 4 bikes all had fairings and I have not been happy with the amount of air hitting me on the Freewheeler. I don't remember my other bikes that only had windshields having this much buffeting. I hope he has them available soon.

Thanks for the update. I probably will not need these in So. Cal., but my hat is off to JES Custom Accents and DK Customs for actually recognizing us FLRT lovers and moving forward with a proactive attitude. Thanks ALL!

wind deflectors

get a Memphis shade fairing. It not only reduces wind buffeting it eliminates it. Also it comes off same as the windshield and will not cause the motor to heat up any more than it does. I have made fangs for my freewheeler that helped a bit but on a real hot day the motor heated up more with them on than with them off

fairings

Could you please tell me what is the model number of the bathing fairing you have and the type of mounting brackets used.

deflectors

Google Memphis shades. look at the batwing fairings they are all the same only the mounting brackets are different. For the freewheeler you use the road king brackets. The fairing fits closer to the headlight than any windshield you can buy. no buffeting at all I used the 9 inch shield. If you phone Memphis shades the secretary will tell you they don't make a fairing for the freewheeler. Ask to talk to the men that were at the JP booth at Sturgis they will tell you how well it fits

Fairings

Hoppe industries has a batwing fairing on their website specifically for freewheeler . the Memphis shades batwing fairing for roadking will fit freewheeler also.

fairings

I don't know what they are talking about. I have a Memphis shade on my freewheeler that they themselves put on at Sturgis and it fits perfect

FLRT wind deflectors are on his web site now. He's doing a limited run to see how they sell.

Just ordered a set for my wifes Free last night. Waiting to hear the reviews on the Clearview windshield as well. The 2 together might be a win win combination...

wondering if these will fit with the hard lowers as well, any one know?

I have a Clearview. 21 1/2 tall 3 wider and 1 1/2 lower. Does a nice job and is a good looking shield. MIGHT be a bit better than my 20 OEM and my Klockwerks. But the JES deflectors made a HUGE difference.

was just wondering if anybody had gotten there wind deflectors yet, i put my order in the same day i got the e-mail, ;)

I'm not 100% sure but I think the first run will be ready in about 3-4 weeks. I have 1800 miles on my test pair in the last 4 weeks. These things are amazing. If I still smoked I could light a cigarette at 60 mph. That's not an exageration.

Do they effect or limit the air intake as far as engine cool in goes?
