I have to admit this to someone and I think I'd be understood here. I resorted to stalking today. I saw a trike pull into a gas station so hey, I needed gas too so I pulled in and hopped out. The trike was right there so I walked up to the guy and asked him how he liked it. He was very friendly and didn't mind talking and answering questions. I've got to get to the dealer this week to see if they can bring my trike to me in the next week. If I was comfortable riding it I'd just ride it home but it's a 30 mile trip thru some hills and curves and several small towns so I'd rather ride it the first time near home. I'll try not to stalk any trikers anymore but I was happy as can be and saw several trikes and lots of bikes out today.

Most of us are a friendly bunch that ride on three. We are used to answering a lot of questions. Hang in there warm weather is almost there and definitely take it easy the first hundred miles. It takes a bit to get the handle on it. Go to a big parking lot and find a place to do figure "8"'s to get the hang of steering. Good luck

I'll add to Gorilla's good advice. I read in a sticky about pulling the handlebar in the direction I wanted to go and locking my elbow and pushing the opposite handlebar. Then you are using your larger back and chest muscles to supply the thruning power. Second best tip was to think about the turn like a race car driver. Start high in the turn , then cut across the low point and then drift back high. You will be making two small turns instead of one big one and you can fly through the turns.

Best of luck with your trike. Lehman Trikes has a pretty good video as well online.

Someone volunteer to bring her trike home and teach her to ride it on the way back?

This is my very small 23 yr. old daughter to whom I have always promised (and have signed the papers for her to inherit when I kick the bucket) first time piloting my old Harley that is three years older than her.

She grew up on my tour glide ultra but has never piloted a bike herself because she was just to small. I took her to a parking lot the first day and she took me for a ride on it on the back roads the next day.

She took to the trike like a duck to water.
I started her riding in a back pack at 6 months old with her little butt sitting on the backrest, from there she graduated to a car seat that I would secure to the seat behind me. she couldn't fall off and traveled thousands of miles with me that way until she could loose the baby seat.

She has been in more states and attended more events than kids dream of.

She would just go to sleep behind me when she got tired and never once complained.

Awesome! replies! Love the pics!

I'm going tomorrow to see what day the salesman can bring my trike to me. I'm on his route home and he has a trailer so when I bought it he said he'd bring it to me. I bought him a nice gift card so he can't say no to it. :) I'm anxiously waiting.

Unfortunately patience hasn't been one of my virtues. LOL I think it has something to do with the redhead personality. :)

I'm not sure about the mellowing part, I'll be 56 this year and it doesn't seem to be mellowing for me. I'm still fiery and stubborn as ever. LOL

I did get to "visit" my trike today. Handlebars are where they need to be. They have all my little extras put on (bluetooth speakers, highway pegs, battery tender) and he's going to install a tank bib with pouch (for the ipod/phone) since there's no room on the handlebars with the speakers and the windshield doesn't have a bar on it. He's bringing it Monday evening. Suppose to snow Sunday but I hope the forecast is wrong. I did get on it more graceful than the first time. I was very ungraceful the first time because I couldn't get it out of my head that it wouldn't tip or fall over. I didn't want to get off and leave it LOL This trike is going to be perfect for me.

After my visit I went and had one of my tattoos touched up and a new on put on with my long time motto....Live Ride Rock and some beautiful filigree to go with it. And brought a new addition to the "zoo" home, Mr. Ratatouille...a pet rat. All in all a busy day. Back to work tomorrow and the weekend.
