It's official..

Picked up the cleaner yesterday and some lemon pledge. I'm ready to go. LOL

Haven't received a text or call yet about going in to work. I'm on call today and one of the gal's parent is very ill :( so I was given a head up I might get called to work. I'm hoping with no text or call her parent is doing much better. The sun is coming up and it's gonna be in the 50s until noon then possibility of rain. Gonna try and head out to the high school parking lot around 9 when all is quiet. My next day off is Wednesday....sunny and 72! You know what I'll be doing!

It will have to wait until my day off Wednesday. I got a call right after I posted to come in to work. I may end up working some Wednesday or Thursday too depending on when the funeral is for the other gal's relative. There will be plenty of time to ride. :)

I've used Meguiar's products for years and currently use their NXT Tech Wax which I believe is a polymer wax and not a carnuba. I've also used their detailer but usually use the Wizard brand of detailer and bug remover. The Wizard's Mist-N-Shine is quick and takes most bug splats off and you can use it on paint, chrome and windshields. I've also used it on the seats and backrest with no slipperiness. It gives a great shine and is anti-static. Their "Bug Release" works great for those really stuck on bug splats that have been on the bike for a couple days.

The best things in life are not things.

The best thing I've ever used on windshields is Plexus which is used on aircraft windshields. I love it but it is fairly expensive however a 13 oz can lasts me several years. It is good for removing bug spatter and spraying it on before riding makes removing spatter even easier and it requires a very small amount to do the entire windshield. It also helps shed water. Hope this helps. Hang in there Lady and master that Tramp. Ride Safe.

Its Official

The best thing for bugs on the bike is Hydrogen Peroxide. Just put it in a spray bottle and spray it on. Let the bike cool down first and then apply and wait 2 or 3 minutes and wipe off with a rag. They (bugs) fizz up and then come off with just wiping, it can be used on the whole bike to get bugs off, it won't hurt the paint. I have been using it for years on my trike and cars and trucks with good results.
For polishing the windshield after cleaning I use All Clear by Black Lab Corp. It is designed for airplane winshields. They also make it for motorcycles, but it is more expensive. It can be bought on some aviation websites and at some airports. Most airports sell it by the gallon.

Hope you've found a good day to ride by now, Jolie. We're heading up to my wife's folk's place in southern Ill. in May; we'll be towing the Tramp. Sure hope the weather improves by then. Born and raised in the Midwest and as I recall, anything goes until mid-May or so... Have fun and take it slow & cautious for the first few hundred miles or so. Have you signed up for that M/C safety class yet?

Safe travels! Yes in the Midwest anything goes!!! Have a great holiday weekend!

My trike is home as of an hour or so ago. I have worn a path out to look at it. If it would only warm up and quit raining (90% chance tomorrow) on my days off. It's nice sunny and warm on my work days which are 12 hours long. Errrrrrr but tonight I'm happy dancing! Now I can start enjoying it! View attachment 26056

Congrats, nice looking Freewheeler. If it's too cold and rainy up north, you can send it down south and we can break it in for you. :D

Thank you! But it's not a Freewheeler (that's on a later wish list) but I love my Suzuki Boulevard C50 Tramp. He's a beauty and I love him with all my heart. He will give me many good miles. His name is Mad Maxx...I name my vehicles. LOL

Well I've decided to change the trikes name....a girl can always change her mind right?? LOL Mad Maxx just didn't roll off my tongue easily but today I was listening to my favorite rock....ACDC "Thunderstruck" that's his new name. I'm so thunderstruck by him. When I took him for my first ride....I was "thunderstruck" so it fits him. Now I need to get the die cut machine out and make a decal for the back in silver metallic. I've made things for all my friends but never myself. LOL

Glad you're enjoying yuor trike when you can. I know plenty of guys that name their vehicles whether 4, 2 or 3 wheeled. To me my Road Star/Champion will always be "CeCe".

Well were all sitting here waiting on your UPDATE ? Did it stop rainning so you can get out for a few mins ???? HUH HUH HUH :D Rick

I haven't gotten the trike out again. It's yucky on my days off or I'm too tired. I don't want to ride tired being new. Had a gal transfer at work, one other one on suspension for a few days with no pay (warning prior to termination) and another heading that way after calling in two days and she called in a lot in the last two months. I've been working over and today it's beautiful out but it's the 15th and I waited til the last minute to do my taxes. Texted my handy man about the new ramp ( I really hate to drag the trike over the current one) and he is working on the new one this weekend and will be using from the current one so I said that's ok, I work all weekend anyway. So maybe Monday. Whew...long explanation. Hoping not to do too much overtime I need to get experience on the trike so I can ride it 65 miles to the safety course in June or I'll have to postpone.

Morning JO. I read on here that you bought lemon Pledge ?? OH OH. Yrs ago during the Custom Van thing in the Mid west. A vendor came into a Car show and gave us all a small bottle of that stuff. We were in the Silver dome in Michigan for a custom Van Show. It worked great in doors. But once you used it out doors :xzqxz: BEE's and Wasp came a callin. After we see that. That stuff was for house use only lol. On all of my Harley's I only use Mequiar's spray wax Works great for bug and dust removal ... Try a small bottle. Cheaper at Wally world then any place else. Plus it smells GOOD. ThumbUp Rick
