As I use my trike to commute to work and just got a flyer to join AAA.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a similar road side plan for trikes or bikes?? If I were to break down here in my part of Florida.
Id have no clue who to call to even pick up a trike.
Any information would be helpful guys.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

I have Road assistance from Road America thru my HOG Membership. Not very expensive and have some good coverage. Do not know if this is only for Harley or not. Call 1-866-209-8270 and you will be able to find out.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

Thanks
I haven't been able to get much info from any of the bike shops I use or my insurance agent here.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

AAA has a program that covers roadside assistance for motorcycles. If I'm not mistaken, it is part of their recreational vehicle plan.

AMA has agreat program wich is included free with membership.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

It all depends on how far you need to be towed. AAA RV plus works along with the AMA program . Theres GOOD SAM along with the GWRRA program. Each program has different mileage limitations so you would have to research to see what fills your needs. If your towing a trailer then the fun begins. But you can also check with your insurance company. Alllstate supposedly has a tow package for trailers and bikes.

RideOn has a road side assistance program! Recently installed the product in new tires and a years membership was free!

I have AAA RV Premier which gives more towing miles (200) & then (100) for your Car, Bike, Trike and Trike with A Trailer, Truck and your RV be it a Motorhome or Toyhauler / it is your responsibility to tell the agent / dispatcher what you need their service for... most of the time it will be a ROLL-BACK Wrecker which will handle all but a Motorhome and maybe the Camper / Toyhauler situation. Also tell them what type and brand of dealer you need / GWRRA's Goldbook is a great tool for the bikes & trikes. Have used AAA for 28 Years and never one bad experience even the drivers giving you a ride will try to get you to YOUR Choice of dealer even if its just outside your tow limit, some companies just cover the distance even when your willing to pay to go to a better dealer / if you have a certain brand of kit print the dealer list and put it in the bottom of the tour box / update with each new trip to be current.

Here's where to enter your address: http://ww1.texas.aaa.com/en-tx/information/office-locations/Pages/office-locations.aspx Yes this is priced by region s once you get to your correct region under membership at the top of the page see the membership level comparison section to see what they offer.. nearly every new car has a free plan but I like to go to where I choose!!

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

I carry my GWRRA Gold Book with me.
So far in all our travels, we have never had to use it.
I also have coverage with my trike insurance carrier.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

GWRRA Plus....Covers trike/bike plus personal motor vehicle with other services, benefits

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

Thanks to you all for the suggestions.
Guess now its up to me to do some homework.
I have State Farm and my agent had nothing to offer.
I just got AAA's flyer in the mail yesterday.
But it didn't mention anything other then cars.
So again thanks for the suggestions.
I just need a little peace of mind.

Yesterday a customer who has a Chinese scooter came into the shop and asked me for some help getting him started.
He actually burned out his starter motor and had a dead as a door nail battery.
He must have made 8 calls before finding someone who would even bother to come and pick up a 250 pound POS.
So that and the AAA flyer got me to thinking.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

yeah, you got to love State Farm.
I got full coverage and they still wont cover the tow on the trike.

One option locally was Foremost motorcycle insurance.
For full coverage on my trike, they were cheaper than
State Farm and one of my local riders said the tow option
was better than Triple A. He had used both and now has
Foremost.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

The AMA Motow program works great for me. Gotten plenty of 2-wheel flat bed rides. Got first trike flat bed after belt broke. Then blew a valve on another trike. They did great job with both.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

Guys & Gals - make sure you check to see how far your coverage will tow you, if you only ride around town that's one thing / if you break down at Zion N.P. or Yellowstone as I did, regular coverage falls way short. Know what you have and how far it will get you. I pay about 128.00 per year and between the wife's car, my older truck and taking trips thru the USA and Canada and Alaska and AAA covers (1) 200 mile tow and (6) 100 mile tows plus many other benefits per year in all locations it more than pays for its self every year. Nice to have piece of mind as some have said. Just know what you have, if you travel at all you may want more coverage... covers loosing your keys or locking them in the car, a rental car if you need it, fuel, dead battery, flat tire service and even a Notary if you need one.
Here's the site, pick you location:https://apps.texas.aaa.com/aceapps/...&OVKEY=aaa&referer=www.google.com&OVMTC=Exact

and check it out... FYI
also available as an APP on your phone...

I had a very bad experience with Foremost back in the 70s with a claim and swore off them.
State Farm on the other hand not one issue in 30 years.
I will make a few calls during the week and come up something I hope from all the suggestions given.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

I have coverage through Gold Wing Road Riders. I think it was $25.00 per year. It covers our car, SUV, Trike, trucks and my sons car. Also as a member of GWRR your have access to the phone numbers of all GWRR members all over the USA. They are all willing to help out a fellow member. Many have at home shops with tools and even area's to camp overnight. Some will even come pick you up with their trailer if needed. Its a great group to be a part of. Wing Ding 36 sold me. ThumbUp The group that hangs out around Hendersonville NC is a fun and tight nit group.

Id say given the choice and if they do indeed cover my area down here.
It would behoove me to join up.
Besides the coverage just supporting the AMA is a good idea in general.
I do get their newsletter.

Yes, It is called AAA Motorcycle.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

The biggest issue with AAA is that they have different rules for different regions. Theres 3 or 4 regions across the US. Say youre from Texas and you have your trike and cargo trailer insured out of AAA west. Well in california or texas and Nevada you break down youll be towed with your trailer. Here in the midwest AAA wont tow your trailer unless its a camper not a utility or cargo. My plan was AAA RV plus and Im just lucky I didnt break down on the road because I wouldve been screwed

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

Ive found nothing so far to my liking.
AAA I have to call I gather to get any information regarding trikes.
All their sites redirect you to join up for you cars first and then maybe they might talk to you about adding a trike actually motorcycle.
Trikes aren't mentioned anywhere.
My needs are just for local services and no trips are even in my future plans.
The best response I got so far was just from a local towing company here.
They said call we come and get you.
Period.
So far they are who Im looking at using if needed.
Its City Towing if that matters to anyone who might be from down here.

Until I went with RV Plus my trike wasnt covered. Supposedly even though they say 200 mile tows others have said theyve only gotten 100 miles out of them. If you ride out in the boonies I wouldnt go for less than 100 miles on towing. If youre out in Idaho or New mexico 35 miles will get you squat. And the tow company you find to get you the rest of the way will want a pot of gold to get you where you need to be. Supposedly Allstate and State farm have a tow policy for trikes and trailers and might be worth looking into. GWRRA has a tow program but from what Ive read when I was a member if youre out in the boonies their program isnt the greatest. Around town its as good as AAA but its track record for the rest leaves a lot to be desired. If I was a single rider out on the road I might put up with more crap on some of these programs, but Im with the Missus 99% of the time and shes more valuable than the trike so it has to be a reliable program.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

I use the trike to commute locally every day.
13 miles each way give or take a mile.
So its not a long distance thing for me.
I asked my agents assistant and State Farm didn't get back to me on its coverage or not.
So for me to at least have a local towing company should suffice for my current needs.

I have AAA RV plus. I have had to use it twice with my TRIKE.

First time was the dreaded CSC driveshaft. They showed up with a motorcycle trailer and had to go
back for a rolldeck. 40 miles, no extra charge.

Second time was a deer strike(Broken radiators). 80 plus miles, no extra charge.

The cost per year for wife and me is around $140.

I also have Rescue Plus thru GWRRA.

It is $25 a year.

Re: Is there a Triple A type company for trikes or motorcycles??

I have had AAA until the agent informed me they were not really set up for motorcycles which discouraged me. I then went to Allstate Road Service. But neither one of these companies were equipped to receive text requests for service from deaf motorists or bikers (of which I am both).

The absolute BEST I have found is the service provided by your membership in GWRRA ! Way less expensive than other services and covers everything you own that rolls on the road - with expanded benefits over just about all other services. AND they can and will receive cell-phone text messages for service! I know - I needed them once for a flat tire on my car.

Your GWRRA membership with the roadside service will very likely be cheaper than AAA alone!:pepper::pepper::pepper:

Roadside assist - Good Sam Program

This is an older thread so I've read it all...
Just wondering if anyone has used the Good Sam Emergency Roadside Assistance program or has any personal knowledge of its worthiness - such as maybe a friend or relative has used it and commented on it to you.
Thanks for your replies...
