Just watched a Video from A1 cycles about a product they call the Ventilator. You replace the oil dip stick with this vented cap and it removes 90 % of the crankcase pressure to eliminate the oil blow by out of the air cleaner. They do a video of a bike running with a pressure gauge on the head breather, thought it read 5 lbs installed the cap and it went to zero.Had a engine builder tell me that after working on a few M8 engines he felt they produced to much crank case pressure,so maybe there is something to this product:Shrug:.I may get one because after a 375 ride last Saturday there was oil all over the side of my trike( and yes i run it a half a quart low to help prevent this)mostly highway at 65-70mph.

Here's where to find the VENTILATOR videos:

Looks prosmising for sure, let us know if you get it and how it works, can't seem to find any reviews on this from other people, at least I couldn't find any.

All for now Trampas

I don't have anything good to say, but what do I know. I use a external crankcase breather system & run my 2017 M8 1/2 way up the dipstick when checked cold & have no issues.

They say in their intro video that it's to solve sumping issues in high output engines.

I can see how venting the oil tank could help some engines, IMO still a design flaw in the M8 engine oil pump

How many oil pump updates now ? 9 and counting?

I think the MOCO should have done a lot more R&D before introducing the first M8 engines

In particular the wet heads, they seem to suffer more of the sumping problems JMO

I sent them a email asking if this was for big bore engines only and would a stock M8 benefit from this. I'm sure just to sell a product they will say yes.I did 365 miles last weekend and my trike had oil all over it and i run a half quart low also without the head bypass kit,but i will be installing it soon.

I agree Jack. The oil pumps do seem to be an issue & the liquid cooled models seem to be more problematic. My Goldwing friends commented on our 2,500 mile trip how well my FW runs. They thought they would be towing me back. I just smiled and said I got lucky & got a good one.

I calculated that 6,000 of my 12,000 miles have been highway.

They both went out and bought a quart of the Trufuel that saved me from walking.
