Currently have full coverage insurance on my 09 Stratoliner. Called Geico to check how much it would be to insure a 2010 GW trike. Same coverage but yearly cost went from $276 to $723 OUCH!!! Any tips for getting it lower? I've heard of some only paying 300-400. I'm 51 years old and no accidents.

Depending on your state, many states have to insure the trike kit as an accessory. We pay over $1k a year for our trike, that's with the kit being insured for $18K. This is also full insurance for 12 months. I know there are groups out there trying to get this insurance classification changed.

I use e-surance (part of Allstate) on the '07 GW, + $13.5k for trike accessories, just renewed for $459 yr. That's up $40 over last year, gonna look for another carrier for it & autos

I'm around $800/yr for my O9 Venture with Hannigan kit. Insured for 25K in accessories. Once I put it up for the winter I drop the insurance to the bare minimum and will get around $400-500 credited back to my account.

New Hampshire doesn't allow E-Surance to insure here.

Pay $435.00 a year thru Dairyland.....automatic winter rate of $325.00 cuts in in November. Just for kicks one night I checked out Geico. WoW!! They wanted close to $1K for the same coverage. No way !!

I checked dairyland. Best so far at $638 with $500 deductible. Year round covered in full

I pay 654 thru Allstate for my 16 tri, keep in mind that insurance rates are figured by numerous things such as location of your residence to your credit rating.

I get Progressive through USAA. They give a little discount that way. When I took my Road King off the policy, Progressive sent me a summary of the annual premium change. The Harley was 249.00 for full coverage for a year. The rest was for the GW trike. The agent assured me that it was full coverage for the whole trike as a unit. The limits and the deductibles affect the costs. So a lot depends on the amount of coverage that you want. Also, I am covered under medicare and supplemental insurance so I didn't take the personal injury protection element. Overall, I think it wasn't a bad price for Texas.

I have my trike insured through State Farm along with the house and the cars. They were lower than any of the other major ins co's.

I have three bikes insured with Dairyland, 2010 Trike-full coverage, 2013 sportster-full, 2002 softail-liability only. I pay 347.00 per year.:)

I have Markel American Insurance with an annual premium of $309.00 for full coverage, $500 deductible on comp & collision and $100K/$300K liability. The bike is a 2013 GL1800BDD (F6B Deluxe) with a 2015 Hannigan trike kit. Prior to the conversion, I was with GEICO @ approx $400 per yr. After the conversion, GEICO wanted right at $900 for the same coverage as a trike. Markel writes the policy listing the converted Gold Wing F6B as a trike. Markel is a company that specializes in motorcycles & trikes. They understand the product very well.

Keep in mind, every state and every company is different. What a fella gets in one state has little or nothing to do with what it will cost you in another. There are lots of threads on this site concerning insurance. You may want to review several of them. Many are current.
