Hello brothers and sisters. The last two weekends have been rather trying in our household and my husband's career/co-workers and I'm going to ask for some prayers, well wishes, anything positive, from all of you. Please keep your responses here and not on my Facebook if you're a friend of mine...I try to keep FB separated from my husband's job/co-workers and our friends at work.

Two weekends ago on of our motormen was running code3 (lights and sirens) to a vehicle accident and was struck by another vehicle. The bike and rider went airborne-the bike flew 77feet and landed on a parked vehicle and the police officer flew 177feet and landed on a patch of grass. He had several compound fractures, two broken legs but no internal injuries. THANK GOD.

He was in surgery for several hours for 2days. He will not be able to put any pressure on his legs/feet for at least 6 months. He is determined to ride again but he has a long road ahead of him. he is out of the hospital but now in trying times as his mother was released from the hospital from surgery, the same day as his accident, she's very ill and lives with him.

He, has obviously claimed workman's comp and is receiving only 66% of his pay. Please pray for his family. Locally we are doing all we can to help support and assist any way we can.

This past weekend, one of our Sgt's was struck by a motorcycle, the Sgt was a pedestrian, and he was killed (off-duty). There was alcohol involved on both his part as well as the motorcycle rider the hit him. The entire incident is shameful and regretful simply because it was highly preventable. He leaves behind a wife, two 2 adult children and an 8yr old daughter. The motorcycle rider and his partner were injured though not seriously.

We've all tried getting through these last two weeks the best we can but the funeral for the Sgt is tomorrow and it's finally sinking in. All arrangements have been made, and the immediate furry of "we have to do this, we have to do that, who's taking care of this etc" has settled and now the slight calm, before yet another storm, has washed over some of us- the reality is setting in and it's devastating.

Again, I ask for your prayers and positive thoughts for Mike Setvin's family as well as our law enforcement family.
Please accept my thanks in advance!
