Infotainment Volume Control

Arhhh! I've read the books and watched the video and still can't figure out how to adjust the radio volume on my 2014 TriGlide. I have the radio going to the speakers and the intercom and notifications going to the headset. When I try to adjust the volume using the joy stick it will only adjust the headset volume. I'm using 1.18.1 firmware. Another thing, if I put the radio into the headset, it is very loud in the passenger helmet and normal volume in the driver headset. I have not found a way to adjust the radio volume if the intercom is turned on. I know it's something easy so am crying uncle.

Watching this thread. I don't wear a head set but the wife wants to try a set but as you, just a little up in the air on Harley's new system.

To adjust volume in the headset mode the passenger has to adjust it from the rear controls. If you want to adjust the volume of the intercom you have to activate it (or talk )and adjust it while talking . Like wise with the navigation prompts they have to be adjusted when the prompt voice is speaking ! Hope this helps ! Ebert;)

I think we have the intercom figured out front and back. The question is how to raise or lower the AM/FM radio volume. The only way I have been able to do this is to turn the intercom off then run the radio volume and turn the intercom back on. Remember, I don't run the radio through the headset. I have it set to use the speakers.

Wow you got me there buddy ! Sounds like a problem if you can't adjust it with the handlebar toggle. Best to see the dealer and have them reflash the software ! Ebert

While the radio is playing left joy stick up and down adjusts volume. While the unit is talking to you left joy stick up and down adjusts prompt volume. Both can also be set in the screen menu .... with prompt volume being when it talks to you. Rear head set volume set by rear control. I'm using 1.18.1 and have no issues with volume control. Make sure rear volume control is turned ON (menu item) for the rear control to work. If you do not want your passenger to mess with your radio volume you can turn it OFF and lock them out.

Put your switch in accesory position (no lights on) and play around with the radio settings. I spent time this way (with battery tender plugged in) and figured everything out.

If you have the sensitivity turned down on the intercom the radio will not respond because it thinks the intercom in activated.

Go into the set up mode for the intercom check what level is set, raise it to where you have to raise your voice to activate it then back it down a little.

The radio volume should work as long as the radio is playing.

I have our intercom set on head sets and radio through the speakers and everything works like it should.

Crap .... Left toggle advance/back song choice button stopped working today.
I don't even use it that often. I'm always adjusting up/down radio volume and that is fine.

Going to have a list for the Dealer to warranty fix at clutch recall repair day. ;)

Thanks guys, I had the VOX maxed out which keeps the intercom turned on all the time. I backed it off some and now I get the option to adjust the tuner volume as you guys pointed out. I knew it was something simple but it was kickin' my ......

Thanks again,

I read a related article on this but can't find it now, but someone said something about unchecking presets in the set up menu. I had this trouble also with a usb stick . I reloaded the stick on my laptop and mine worked again. Good luck with help from your Dealer as mine was helpless , as always !Ebert

Will try! Thanks.

YES Somehow I changed from SEEK to PRESETS. Having SEEK checked solved the problem. YEAAAAA!
I learn something new about this system every week.

Glad you figured it out , seems like always something simple. The book and Dealers are not very helpful at times ! Thanks for posting your findings too I'm sure others will be helped by it ! Ebert

Update if you have the settings in classic mode it also screws things up ! Can't change songs using usb stick in classic mode also left hand toggle will change bands in classic mode when pushed straight in ! Ebert

Not to steal this thread but along the same topic, how does one mute out the radio so just the gps is heard?

I do not do radio's, but do want to hear directions.

Thanks

I think you can adjust volume of radio broadcast to zero with the left hand toggle (down) which should mute , and then raise the volume of the GPS Lady when she is talking with the same toggle (up). Voice commands of GPS and intercom volume can only be adjusted when they are talking . Also when phone is in use ! Ebert
