thinking about installing a set of driver's floor boards on our '97 GW SE/Roadsmith. when we bought the bike, included in the deal was a set of driver's floorboards, in the box, never installed.
who has them on their trikes? do you like them, or not? i've had boards before(on our 1300 VTX/Motortrike), and loved 'em. also really liked the heel/toe.
but i've heard some say they didn't like them on a wing. just wondering why not.
thanks-dave

the problem some have with the heel/toe shifter is that it gets in the way of the boot.

Had floorboards on our '95 Gl1500SE when we got it. I think they were by Markland. Now I love the 'boards and heel-toe shifter on my Harley, but on the 'Wing I couldn't put my foot down flat. With a 34' inseam and the seating and floorboard position I would have had to bend my toes up toward my knees further than they would go, much less be comfortable. There was also a raised brake pedal and a raised heel rest - had to move my whole foot to use the brake. I went to stock pegs with a toe rest on the engine guards, then a take-off set of Kury Iso Wings we got at the local Honda shop for just $25. They work well for me, like mini-floorboards. Kept the toe rest to be able to change foot position without going to the highway boards.

Oh- the boards - sold them to a guy with shorter legs, and he loves them.

I installed a set on my 96se roadsmith last year with out instructions, A little bit of a hassel. But I like mine. I :2cents:am still not sure if I have the heel-toe hooked up right to the shifting shaft. It wiggles when ever I shift. I have it hooked on the bottom.

thanks for all the input. it seems that the shorter you are, the better they fit. that works out good, cause i'm only 5'6"! i've got a week of vacation time next month, so, i think i'll put 'em on, and try 'em. if i don't like 'em, i'll just take 'em back off.
