I'd hate to get shot with this!

If you're willing to spend that kind of money on ammo...take a look at the Rohrbaugh R9 for a really small, really expensive pocket 9.

Looked at those. Not that much smaller than the XDS, at least not $1200 worth of smaller. Plus you have to change the spring every 200 rounds.
If G2R comes out with the R.I.P.s in 380 I might opt for a Seecamp LWS38. Its stainless, tiny and only weighs 14oz fully loaded with 6+1.

If for some crazy reason the gov't let's us buy this ammo in bulk there is no way i would pay $200.00 plus for a box of ammo. there are some nasty bullets out there now that will do any job intended and they are just a fraction of the cost of these. if you do reloads there are more options yet and you can do some crazy things with bullets such as drilling out the centers and making crosscuts in them as well, again some nasty devastating stuff. we take wad cutter bullets and turn them around when loading them , makes a super monster hollow point bullet that you would not want to get hit with. now, something to think about is the fact that you can kill anybody very easily with any well placed bullet so why do we need these. the other thing is if you did use these bullets and hurt or killed somebody, even in self defense , i can see us getting sued for excessive force, the lawyers would love it.

Be an impossible Case to make without first getting the Jury to find guilty of Wrongful Death or find it to be Without Just Cause ("Bad" Shooting).
Dead is Dead.

Ya know what I really dig on about this ammo? The name! R.I.P. Ammo ... Someone came up with a sweet idea for that. The name fits the results if you are on the wrong end of the barrel.

I must admit, the thought of shooting someone with this round is really sobering. Yes its a very interesting and unique bullet, but in all seriousness, one has to ponder the reality of the destruction inflicted upon the person on the receiving end of one or more of these. Honestly, my very first thought after seeing these fired into a gel block was that its just too much. But then, in a life or death situation with you or your loved one's lives on the line, is it really too much? What is too much when its a situation of kill or be killed? You should never even consider shooting someone unless your life is threatened, but if and when it is, I want to KNOW I can stop a killer and for that reason I will be buying some to load the smallest, most concealable, quality built weapon I can find.

Do you think this round is too much? What say you?

IMO more damage is better but if you end up using it odds are some family members of the critter you had to use it on are going to sue, chances are they could get a judgment against you for excessive force. I think I'll stick with my Hornady Critical defense rounds, just use more of them if need be.

great replies from all of you but which can you trust the most, the gov't or the lawyers who are going to sue your as- off?, not a great choice in my book. the stand your ground law is being challenged more and more in court everyday and in some cases the good guy comes out on the bad end and ends up being sued and arrested himself, sucks.

As long as you feel your or some one else's life is threatened and you decide you are going to take action, whatever you can carry that makes the out come in your favor and is legal is good!
Your intent should be to stop the threat.
Making sure the threat is removed accomplishes that!
One point to make:
These seem to be 9mm's right now(with more cal's to come). Really to long a story to tell and it was 9mm silver tips but, with the results of a police action shooting my department got rid of 9mm's and went to .45's.
A subject was wanted on a felony warranty for murder. He was found crouching in a closet. When the officer opened the sliding closet door the felon started to raise his gun. Officer, standing almost on top of the perp, fired his 9mm twice. The 1st shot bounced off the forehead, the 2nd went under the skin, traveled around the head, exiting at the ear. Neither penetrated!!!! Of course they did knock the perp out.
Lack of penetration of various 9mm ammo and other smaller calibers has been noted in many police action shootings, particularly if the perp is wearing heavy clothing, as in it's winter!
Have no idea what this ammo will do in the 9mm caliber but, I carry a .45!!!!!!

Over kill, Pure and simple....
10% of the public love guns.....
10% of the public hate guns.....
80% are on the fence...
''But'' bullets like that will add them to the hate side.....

I love Extra Crispy:pepper:.

Lil birdey told me this bullet is NOT a good mix for CA law enforcement. LIABILITY!:xzqxz: California will probably outlaw, real soon. But now that I am 'nearly' retired, I'd sure like to get my hands on a box of .45, for home defence, regardless of cost & consequence. :D

Good question....
Have not received any Reply from them to the email I sent. Will send another today. No answer by next week, will hunt down a number and give 'em a Ringy.
