:( My friend and riding buddy is dying. He is a VERY religious guy, and his beliefs won't allow medical intervention. He is in his early 50's, and otherwise the picture of health. I have heard that whatever this is, medical proffessionals could have made the difference. But he won't do it. He has been moved to a nursing home and his dear wife can no longer care for him. I just don't understand why some religions won't see fit to go to a "healer". Jesus was a healer, right? Pray for my friend Craig. jimsjinx:blush:

It's heart breaking to lose a good friend, Jim!!!! I will definitely be praying for Craig, but also for you and his other friends and family!

Jim, I guess that is what makes the world go around we all have our own faith or religion.. some we might not understand...
your friend and his family will be in our prayers.

Some people are so strong in their convictions that they live or die by God's will and do so with peace.

Well, the problem with faith is it is a crapshoot on which one you choose to believe and which one you choose to follow. Mine is simple, I just try to lead a good life, care for people who need help, love my wife, worry about my children and allow others to feel free to practice their faith, whether it be Christian, Mormon, Jewish, Muslim or any other of the thousands they can choose from. I have choosen not to pick any of them, they all seem to be run by middle men here on earth for the sole person of financial survival, I prefer to work on living my life based on my own believe the my own God.

Whatever choice your friend makes I would honor his desire to practice his religion in the way he seems fit. This country and this world would be a much better place if we all allowed other the decency to do so.

I hope your friend is able to proceed as he has requested. I pray for him and you.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Also sorry you have to stand aside and watch. So many things in life don't make sense. Being there for him is about all you can do, and also the best thing for him right now.

Yep, I've lost Relatives and Friends over the years this way...not my path, but I have some real appreciation for Folks with this much conviction....I hope this ends very peacefully for Them, and all of the Concerned Friends and Family.....:(:)

Yes, I totally understand his beleif in a miracle, but to put his wife and kids through that is not easy to comprehend. The Missus is not of the same beliefs, so it is double hard for her. They are both fine teachers, and his students will have a hard time with this as well. I have another triker friend, who was diagnosed with liver cancer, and he is fighting tooth and nail with the help of doctors and technology. But to just give it to the Lord? Man, that's faith. I don't think I could do it. Thank you for the prayers, but it looks bleak as of tonight. The wife had called tonight to say she was going to Atlanta to be with him, and all his children are in town. Craigs Dad was also just admitted to a Hospice 2 days ago! Man when it rains........ God bless Ms. Carol. jimsjinx PS... Zook, you met him when we brought our GWRRA chapter down, and you looked under my trike for me. He's the guy with the little dacshund dog "Sydney" that rode on the 1800. Hell of a nice guy.

I remember him Jim..in fact we have pictures of him and his dog that Marge took. I'll try and find them and post. I sure hate it for him and especially his wife and family.
