Is that "Aged" like a fine wine or like a cheeseburger left in a car for a couple of weeks in the Arizona sun?:AGGHH:

Cool Picture!!!

You should be seeing lot of AARP members in your neck of the woods these days.... I guess more of them gravitate to the valley but I bet there are some in your corner of the state as well... Might be a bit too "CITY" for most come to think of it....

Did a Google search on Aged Adults Riding Proud T-Shirts and there are a couple of places that have them. I think it was 25.95 each, seemed to be only in gray color.

I'll have to get one for me and one for the wife.:)

I'm also an AARP member & I smell like an old cheeseburger marinated in gas, grease & oil.

Zazzle has a pretty good color selection. I wanted black but they were out of my size. Maybe Omar the tentmaker will get them some soon.

I'm in AARP but found a better organization recently -- AMAC (Association of Matured American Citizens). They are truly for protecting the benefits for "older" people (they are considered "the conservative alternative to AARP). Check them out (also have discounts etc.).

I belong to AARP. I toss all mail from insurance companies (lots) and AARP (lots) as soon as I get it in the house. I don't read the magazine much(they do have some interesting articles though), I take all the discounts - which pays for my membership. Yes they are more to the left then the right, but money in my pocket is more important.

Looking into that other organization to see what kind of discounts they provide. Hope they can take a big bite out of AARP membership - maybe that will open their eyes and start looking out for us mature adults that don't like the way this country is heading.

Point well taken, Gary. I enjoyed the discounts, but man, how I have to hold my nose with those people. The more members they have, the more power they have in the political circle. Guess I have to take a pass with AARP until I find I'm screwing myself over missing the discounts.

If you have AAA you'll get the same discounts in motels.

Been an AARP member for years. When it runs out this time, I'm not going to renew. Plenty of ways to get discounts. Everytime I ask for the AARP discount, I'm told "Your already getting it" I've never been asked for the card.

i left AARP when then sold my address (i was told they would- so i misspelled my name one letter and it happened) After i joined i started getting huge amount of junk mail.

I PREFER GENERATION AMERICA VS aarp
aarp help push the new health disaster thru. congress

Excellent point. AARP sold out seniors several years ago, especially on the health care issue. I've found that any discount that AARP claims they have can be duplicated very easily just by asking.

I belong to several things like American Legion (and Legion Riders), VFW, Elks and the Moose International. For the last 2 years, the Moose International has been renewing my AARP membership for nothing.. I reinstated my AARP roadside assistance which is with Allstate. I had it for several years but dropped it for a few months. Thur AARP I paid $61 for the first year for their top level they have which includes $750 breakdown expenses for ANY vehicle I am in!!! I cancelled the other 6-10 dollar ones on my other vehicles and now the cost is even lower. The nice thing is that they cover motorcycles too and I know as I have used it 3 times for problems such as flat tire and a mechinal break down in the past. I also do not agree with all their politics, but I do enjoy the discounts.

Tomg

I joined the real AARP not long after my 55th. Took about a year to realize I did not agree with their politics so I canceled the membership. If I don't agree with an organization's politics I refuse to help fund them. There are other ways to get the diminutive benefits AARP offers. But that's just me.
