Hwy 28 Memorial Cross outside Deals Gap

Some of you that ride, or have ridden the very twisty scenic Hwy 28 below the Deals Gap/The Dragon Store may have seen this Cross below Fontana Village. Mitzie and I ride up each year and put on a New Wreath. It is in Honor of Bruce Williams, a Member of the VFRD VFR Interceptor Forum. He was killed there, and a Memorial Ride is held each year in His Honor called TexasMac (T-Mac)...that was His online handle. It happened at Christmas when He and His Family came up to ride with other Members....Super Sad Story.......

Keep it Safe out there Folks...it can happen very quickly and unexpectedly......

Yep, Great Road....."Critters" can be a very disturbing surprise in the middle of some of the blind corners, especially deer.....

I've had this discussion many, many times with Folks and have about come to the conclusion that Anyone distracted that much by something like that will be driving/riding distracted every mile of every ride anyway. This Memorial had been there 3 years before we ever came in contact with it personally, and I led a T-Mac Ride the 4th year, and Mitzie rode too. Since then though, we add the Wreath each year...Bruce's Stainless Steel Cross looked so lonely and forgotten out there......
