Huge upgrade disappointment

After looking at the new Screamin Eagle 131 engine I thought I’d make a few enquiries. Being in the U.K. my dealer has informed me it won’t ever be available over here due to emissions.

ok so no big deal. So I asked about a stage 3 upgrade. It turns out that on our Freewheelers we can only go to stage 2.

I was planning to turn my trike into a show stopper for spring. Such a shame that between U.K. laws and Harley we are limited to how far we can go.

Anyone got any ideas on ways around the issues. Maybe via other add ons?

Any independent shops that will do a big bore and cam change.

Hello mate

yeah that’s an option. I’m looking at what I can buy as well to remove the chrome around the engine. The OEM kit is fine , but I’m looking for something out of the norm.

You have much better options in the US. I need to fly over with a huge empty suitcase for a weekend ha.

If they ever finish the bridge you could ride the trike over and have the parts installed here, And then ride it back home...:)....Whats holding up the bridge project is that they haven't come to an agreement as to which side of the road to ride on...The general consensus [So far] is that when you reach the middle of the bridge all traffic will just have to switch to the opposite side...:xzqxz:...

If you want a show stopper, as you put it, customize the paint & powder coat/change the wheels.

I do not believe the new 131 cu. in. crate engine will work in the trikes anyway, according to dealers.

But what if the bridge was on two levels. One for one way and one for the other? I’ve never understood why you guys drive on the wrong side of the road though. It’s bloody dangerous.

Maybe a well planned boat trip might work though, but I’d never get insured for a 131 Screamin Eagle engine, and if the Freewheeler can’t physically fit the stage 3 it doesn’t matter where I try to have it done. Companies just need to get their stock sorted and start making things that fit our trike.

I believe you are on the wrong side of the road. Have toured 5 countries in Europe & they were all on the RIGHT side of the road..:D:clapping::Coffee:

.

It is because of the Stamp Act of 1765......After that was imposed on the Colonies we decided not to ride horses on the same side as you guys.. Out of protest and it just continued on to the automobile.....

As this is a mainly US based site I will have to agree to disagree as I feel I’m fighting a losing battle. There is far too many of you who have the totally wrong ideas on the highway codes.

I have to agree on that........There are way too many here that don't follow the rules of the road.....Or they make them up as they go along..:gah:....

You dont say that i recall what year your trike is,there are many cam choices,TTS makes a good torque cam as well as Woods ect, head work and a big bore will help a bunch. I truly believe the 131 would be terrible with heat managment.

It’s a 2019. I hadn’t thought about heat, but as the heat from a114 is bad enough you are probably correct there. I’ll have a look into your suggestions mate.

has anyone got any suggestions on what they consider a good set of header pipes? I’m looking at the Vance and Hines Power Duals at the moment. I’d much prefer a custom look with the pipes looking a bit like the dual shots, and finishing to the side. I guess this would affect the torque though on our FLRT.
