Thinking about triking my '07 C50T, due to degenerative arthritis:mad:. Came across this site while looking at the Insta Trike kits. Will be looking for the pros and cons of this kit.

Welcome to Trike Talk from St.Louis,MO.
If you do go to the Insta-Trike,it will totally change the way you are used to riding.Be sure and take it somewhere and practice riding before any longer rides.
Wife and I will be down your way in Sept.,going to the diamond mine state park. This may be one trip that pays for itself.hehe
She just loves diamonds.

Welcome Etcher. If you are trying to decide on trikes, keep mid June in mind for the Trike Talk rally in Eureka Springs.
You would see lots of different trikes there.

Hey etcher1 - welcome to Trike talk from just north of you in SW MO. I actually work in Bentonville, ride a lot in NWA, and a member of ABATE dist 4 out of Fayetteville and will be the MC & DJ at the NWA Vets Run June 21 starting at the UofA Agri Park. Maybe see you around, and do check out the TT Annual Reunion in Eureka in June.

As far as the Insta-Trike, Voyager kits and such, I have never ridden one, but I was behind one on a run down the Pig Trail. Only one of the outrigger wheels are on the ground at any one time. As we went through the curves the bike would lean toward the outside, and that outside wheel would be the one on the road, as we rode an opposite curve the bike would lean a bit the other way and the other wheel would touch down. Once in a while on the straights he would be balanced just right, and both outrigger wheels would be off the road and he was 2-wheeling for a bit until things shifted and he was on 3 wheels again. The biggest laugh of the day is when we pulled over he stopped at a place where both outrigger wheels were on the ground, and the rear bike wheel was in a hole. When he started out again his back wheel just spun in the air as the outrigger wheels were keeping him upright. He ended up getting off and pushing the bike ahead a foot until the wheel hit the dirt got traction. He now has a regular trike conversion on that same bike. He said the "real" trike is somewhat more stable feeling as it doesn't shift back and forth, but the Voyager kit was a good way to get the stability of a 3 wheeler on a budget.
He also had a regular motorcycle license and insurance, as it wasn't a trike, it was a bike with an accessory wheel kit. He couldn't take his road license on it with 4 wheels, as then it would be a 4 wheeler, and it didn't meet the automobile (4 wheel) safety standards. In order to be a motorcycle it has to have 3 or less wheels. The kit was insured under the carrier's accessory coverage.

WELCOME FROM WYOMING!

DONT FORGET TO CHECK INTO TOTAL CONVERSION KITS AS WELL.
