Thanks for welcoming me to the board. I do not have a trike, but I'm definitely curious and interested. We just recently got the laws straightened out here in CA regarding trikes and a local business opened about a year ago which specializes in Champion and Motor Trike conversions. They have several ready for sale, including a couple of Goldwings, an FLH, a Roadstar and a VTX1300.

I managed to drag my wife in there. Heretofore, she's been completely uninterested in my motorcycle (Kawasaki Vulcan). She doesn't care if I ride, but she doesn't want to. I think there are two reasons for this-one is that she's a little freaked out about the stability of the motorcycle and the other is that she has had some back pain for quite a few years-probably arthritis or some such...

Anyway, I got her to get on the Harley trike. It was fitted with a rear contour seat and a Tourpack. She thought it was OK. Then we got her on the Goldwing , with the wraparound seat and armrests and she allowed as how that was pretty comfortable and she could actually consider going on it.

She didn't even gulp when the sales guy gave us the price.

Anyway, lotsa words to say that I'm definitely interested in triking and will, at some point, go for VTX or Roadstar conversion if it's just for me, but if she wants to go too, we'll look at a Goldwing. But NOT for awhile, because lotsa baksheesh required, which we currently no got.

Will be hanging out here for words of wisdom and encouragement. Seems like a very happy family here and I really like that. C ya around the block...
Hi jinglebob! "Curious and interested" is definitely the right place to start, and TrikeTalk is the best and most fun place to go to get that curiosity satisfied! We are a happy family here, and we'll just open up and adopt you and your wife....how's that sound? By the time you are ready to actually get that trike, you'll be more than ready for riding it!

Welcome to the board to both of U,,, Make sure U show the board to the wife and let her know that they are women who own and drive their own trikes..In ur search don't forget the well cared for used trikes, most with very low milage and lots of goodies... Also the 1500 Goldwing is a excellent trike too :D they stopped making the 1500 in 2000 and started the 1800 in 2001. If U look at a used 1800 make sure it has had all the up dates done, and if U buy new, understand that Honda will not warrenty anything on a trike
So keep reading the board, it will help U a lot and might save u a $$ or two.

Happy Hunting

Welcome aboard jinglebob. My wife was the same way, until she fell in love with the Stallion. Now she will even ride on my Harlet Road Glide Trike. In Just coming up on 2 years she has over 20k on her Stallion. Watch the used trike market. There are a lot of trikes out there for sale from all makes. Ask questions here we will try and help.
