My 2007 Harley FLHT is being fitted with a Champion IRS kit as I type. I've been riding since I was 16. I just received my Medicare card in the mail yesterday, which makes me officially old. Last fall I came down with endocarditis that went into full sepsis. The drugs used to save my life took my left leg, fingers on my left hand and my right toes. That's why I'm now a member of Trike Talk. I have over 200,000 two-wheel miles and zero three-wheel miles at this time. Thanks

Hi Dennis, and welcome to the TrikeTalk family.

It will be a new adventure with three wheels and the steering will feel strange at first (no more counter steering, which you naturally do right now!), but after about 500 miles, you will discover you have the biggest ol' grin on your face, and you will wonder why you waited so long to get a trike.

Good to have another Texan on board. Just had my 06' FLHT converted to a champion with solid axle. It takes a little getting used to, but I am enjoying the change. Best of luck and safe riding.

Welcome to TT - glad you found us. Some things may feel a little strange at 1st but you'll quickly get used to it. Take your time, maybe find a big, empty parking lot and practice some turns, figure 8's, etc. Your gonna love it. Have fun, let us know how your doing, post often, ride safe!

Another couple a'Texans here from Killeen / Fort Hood! Glad to have you here! And yes, we have our Medicare cards, too! Had our 08 GW1800 CSC since 09, and have 30,000 wonderful miles on it! Been coast to coast and other big rides on it, no problems! You'll come to love yours, too!

Sounds like you have a couple of obstactles....but you are used to havin your knees in the breeze...so you will figure em out!

Keep us posted on when you get your trike home, and take your time gettin used to it. I am curious about what you will do on the shifting and clutching(modifications)?

I'm having an EFM auto clutch installed. To start off with I'm going to see if I can use the heel/toe shifter with my prosthetic (stomp, clunk, stomp, clunk...). If that doesn't work I'm thinking about a tank shifter setup. I've looked into Pingle's push button shifter, but I've read too many stories about their mechanical failures. Anyone have experience with tank shifters. Thanks for all the kind words and warm greetings.
