How to break into your house in 6 seconds

One of the reasons I have no windows on my overhead doors and the pull cords have been removed. Since our society is decaying I also have a monitored alarm system for the house and both garages along with security cameras.

Cut the knot on the rope and pull the red handle off.

Buy a dollar store tiny funnel.

Slide the funnel up the rope and reinstall the red handle.

Take a wire tie and run it through the detachment handle mechanism holes. (where the top of the rope is)

Well,,, ain't THAT a kick in the Mind's Nads...
Thanks for the enlightening ThumbUp

Gonna have to Zip-Tie that "chink in the Armor" secure ASAP.

quick easy cure for this problem. drill a hole in the side rail (track) large enough for a good pad lock close to a roller and it wont open.

worked for k-mart automotive in the early 80's . that's all we had for roll up door locks. been doing it ever since.

I just Screwed in a 2x4 x3'L ABOVE THE INNER DOOR and now the wire cannot get close to the Handle.
$2.65 fix.ThumbUp

I think the sale of wire should be restricted to 5 inches or less with a 5 day waiting period to purchase.:D

with a pad lock in the track , they are not getting in . of course neither are you with out taking the lock off.
I have one of those " drive way alarms" inside as a motion sensor . its wire less and sits next to the bed to wake me up if any one gets in , and 2 berettas to choose from so they don't get out.

Getting started in a few minutes with a fix to prevent this before we take off to the Caribbean. The niece has to get into the house while we're gone to see to the cats. The front door is a PITA.

I saw this online about a year ago somewhere else. I took a ty wrap and put it thru the hole where the rope is and tied it upward around the lever is. Stops the lever from being pulled down.

You guys are lucky, some people have never had a garage in their lives. I have lived here since 1974 and no garage.
Guess I am missing all the fun! LOL

I have a detached garage. And solid Woden doors. They don't bend. I will test. That must have been put out by the guy on Shark tank 2 weeks ago. He is selling a remote control lock. Attaches to the side like a dead bolt.

If you really want to stop breakins to your garage, you also need to cover the windows in the middle. A thief can put a piece of blanket over the glass, silently break it, and then stick their arm in and release the door!

I designed and built my garage. I don't do windows. to me its a bad idea for the above reason and if they are getting in to steal your stuff why let them see what the are getting ahead of time.( Also , what happens in the garage , stays in the garage.) in reality if they want in all we can do is slow down their progress by making it a little more difficult.

There's a law in my town that makes it illegal to brake into houses, Problem solved thanks to the Government..... ;);)
