Anyone have the Hornet XP3 Electronic Deer Alert System? I often ride late night thru areas known to have "plenty" of deer. My friend has one of these and swears by it. I'm looking for other opinions before blowing $70-$80 plus any do-dads required to hook it up. Thanks. ThumbUp

I got those standard car type in a chrome color and stuck them on either side of front wheel fender. No wiring involved. Haven't had any deer run in front. Been on for tens of thousands of miles.

We bought those stick-on deer alerts in the 80's.. They didn't have wiring - just stuck on. Never came off.
I don't know if they actually worked but we saw plenty of deer and had no close encounters...maybe just lucky.
After we sold those bikes we never bought them again - saw plenty of deer but no close encounters....YET ... keeping our fingers crossed and our eyes open!

If the deer roem near a busy road they get used to the deer whistles. But on the back roads the deer don't hear them as much. I have had the stick on deer whistlers on every bike I have owned. I have still had some close calls. But generally the deer do 1of 2 things;1 freeze 2run back the way they came. So knowing that helps me with figuring what will happen when I see eye balls.

If you ever ask ,do those things work I get the same thing ThumbUp,,, never hit a deer,,,,ThumbUp,,,,,,but better safe than sorry I guess......:Shrug:

 I have had a set on my tour glide for 24 yrs.
Do they work?
I have never hit a deer, However if you come to Wyoming where there are more antelope than people, I have to warn you that an antelope has less brains than a cow and you never know how they will react?
The only thing for sure is that they react quick!

Save your money. I've known riders that bought these things and STILL hit a deer. False security if you waste your cash of them. Besides they fill up with bugs and crap and you can't use anything metal to clean them out
