horn blows though head sets

How loud is the horn in the headset? Could it be that you are hearing the horn through the mic? Could happen if the volume on the mic is high enough. I get terrible road noise through mine if the mic volume is too high while I'm riding freeway speeds.

I don't know how that could happen unless like Ozarkryder sez the intercom is turned up so loud that it is coming from there.Sure would like to know what you find out though.RIDE SAFE

I agree, the OP has to be hearing the horn blow through the open mic of the intercom. Only solution I know if is turn down the volume or install Mic-Mutes.

When blowing horn on gl1800 can be heard though headsets at times. any one have this problen? How about a fix? Thanks Jusfun.

I only remember one other case on the bulletin boards and it did indeed turn out to be coming through the intercom. I guess you could unhook one of the horns to lower the sound level.

Ya gotta admit - those GL1800 have some SERIOUS horns!!!! Thankfully I don't have to use mine often.....

Intercom is turned off and I do beleve it is a feed back of some kind .to loud for it to be comeig through the mic.

Now I have noticed on mine I could hear a slight hissing noise through the head set with the intercom & CB turned off, don't know what causes it and it doesn't bother me since I normally have one or both on.
