i just bought a honda vtx 1300 mootr trike and the speedometer is off. anybody have that same problem or a solution? i am a first time rider and my first bike was a suzuki m109r but my wife was not going to get on the bike unless it had three wheels. we are happy with the honda just that the speedometer is off and also that i has n o gas guage whats up with that!!

Every Honda I've ever had, from 1969 to present, has registered about 5 mph slow. So, I just drive 5 mph over the speed limit. :)

The speedo works off the front wheel's rotation, I checked years ago trying to remedy a GL1500 Wing, but there was no fix. I haven't checked since then, someone may have some newer information.

And the gas gauge? Only the factory dressed bikes have them. You'll learn to watch the trip-ometer for mileage between fills.

Enjoy the trike.

just fixed a VTX1300/MotorTrike. with a system called "SDpeederHealer" before the speedo read 12 MPH fast. speedhealer fixed it right up. Expensive but it works. $115.00

It would actually be a "going to slow" ticket. My speedo was registering more than the actual speed. Besides the speedometer being off, the odometer is also off - registering more miles than actual. For my bike was 15 for every 100! That's a lot! And you will never really know what your true MPG is. Got the SpeedoHealer, and the cost was worth it. I don't want to "do the math in my head" while I'm riding - too much else to think about!!!

hey thanks all for the info I'll have to look into it. just spent quite a bit of money getting the trunk, a bracket manufactured for it and a memphis shade fairing. this is getting expensive, but well worth it if the wife is happy riding

Hey gorilla
Just recieved the speedo healer was it had to install it? Do you have any suggestion on installing it?

CLO it's plug and play. Remove the chrome cover on the left side and the connectors are right there. I mounted the adjuster module under the other cover above that. No issues.

Hey gorilla
Just installed the speedo healer and it works good. Thanks for the info it was so easy to do also.
