Honda Navi Problem

Tried installing a new CF card to upgrade the navigation system and it did not work. All I have now on the screen is Honda Navigation System that goes on and off. Garmin suggested reset the Navi unit. This has been done many times with no success. Garmin then sent a new CF card that I have not tried yet.

I have disconnected the battery, no change. Right now, the only thing that shows on the screen is Honda Navigation System (flashes on & off). The audio screen will not open and I cannot get any Information to show. I am also getting static in the headsets when I turn on the intercom that was not there before.

I talked to a Honda dealer, :Shrug:They said bring it in so they could look at it but said they would have to call Honda.

Any :confused:HELP:AGGHH: would be appreciated.

I'd stuff that new CF card in and see what happens before getting too concerned. You just might be fretting over nothing.. If the system worked with the old card then it should also work with the new one. I suspect for some reason you no longer have the old card to verify system operation...

Maybe a friend with a know good CF card could help you out...

Now that is interesting to say the least.....

I've only had my card out once but seem to recall it was sort of hard going back in. Just for giggles and grins try applying a bit more in pressure. I know it is a little awkward but you might also try to make sure noting is blocking full insertion.

Just trying to think of all the possibilities. Please don't take offense.

I have a 2006 GL1800. Three weeks ago I ordered and received a updated CF card from Garmin complete with simple instructions on how to upgrade the unit. followed the instructions explicitly and the unit updated itself in just a few moments without any problem. I kept the bike running during the update.

That updated CF card cost me $100! For only $35 more I could have bought a brand new Garmin 1390 with lifetime maps and traffic notices from Costco! I have one for my minivan and just for the heck of it I used the suction cup mount on the bike's windshield for several days - it did not become loose or fall off. Yesterday I took 210 mile trip with the 1390 mounted via the suction cup - steady as a rock on the interstate and bumpy back country roads. AND unlike the bike's GPS, it gives your actual speed. (My bike's speedo is 3 mph optimistic.)

Also take look inside to be sure you didnt bend or break off any of the pins when installing the card.
