HOG Owners Harley Assist or Other Roadside Assistance Program

Just wondering if the Harley Assist is worth the money or should I invest in another roadside assistance program. Standard coverage is limited to one occurrence per year, up to a maximum of $100, for towing to the nearest Harley-Davidson® Retailer. I would think that it would cost more than $100 for your trike to be towed especially if you are out west. I would appreciate any recommendations for roadside assistance programs. Thanks

I am a life member of Hog since 1989, I have used the towing more than enuff to make it worth while

I also have towing thru my Motorcycle Insurance under written by Progressive

Check with your carrier for coverage;)

I have used Road America, for years. HOG membership required. Unlimited tow & no max, last I knew. $19.95 a year for basic. $29.95 a year for trip interruption with a breakdown under warranty ( I verified it covers extended warranty also, as i do have the 7 yr.). I have had them for quite a few years now. One tow was around $300 & they paid in full. They even reimbursed me a labor charge the towing co. caused by pulling handle bars down that dealer charged me $90 to fix, by taking the 90 out of the towing co account & mailed me a check as soon as I got home. Towed 3 times. NM FL & IL. 2 tire failures , 1 dead battery.

I've had the HOG towing for 7 years, and also thru AMA membership, at least 3 years, never had occasion to use either. Wife's car crapped out recently, I decided to use the AMA towing. All went well, I asked the guy on the phone where he was, clear across the country. So I gave him the name of a local tow outfit that I use at work. Truck arrived pretty quick, maybe half hour, we had it towed to our house, 7 miles. The driver unloaded it, said see ya later. I'm satisfied. Guess I didn't test any distance or dollar limits.
