hitch rack for trike.

How about a side view shot at a distance. Interested in seeing the clearance.

$80 is a bargain by the way.ThumbUp

Got the hitch at harbor freight and the light kit from tractor supply co. the rack is a rtv rack for about $44 I got it for around $25. it was a return. light kit is a standard trailer kit for around $40. had to modify the tongue a little bit. the original put it out to far from the trike.

That looks great. I have the little rack from Kuryakyn for putting a cooler on, but would like something bigger.
I am curious, what kind of weight can you put on the rack you have?
Is that an issue?

I picked up a hitch rack from Harbor Freight this past winter but haven't had a chance to set it up yet. The one I got is aluminum and from what I saw in the store, it has corner pieces that join the aluminum together. I think I can cut it down in length and width so it isn't as large hanging off the rear of the trike. That one on sale was $89.00 plus I had a 25% coupon. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll get that done but I have to install a hitch as well first.

Been thinking of doing the something like this myself, but not quite as large. Have been advised by others on this site to really check the trike receiver to see if it needs to be beefed up to support the additional weight. Darn sure looks good though.

Great looking trike, too.

[SUP]It is very nice! What is the source for the ATV rack you used? Is it aluminum or steel?
Again it is a very nice build!!

My hitch is a 1 1/4" it is welded to the trike frame. I had to use a hitch reducer to go from the 2" tongue on the rack to the 1-1/4" receiver on the bike. the hitch is more then strong enough to handle the 50 to 75 lbs of stuff we plan on carrying on it.

I've been using a harbor freight rack for almost 5 years now on my Stallion. I did have heat issues from the exhaust until I put tips that turn down and deflect the heat away from the rack.. At first I had melted antiperspirant from the heat in the cooler months and then the ABS suitcases were being warped from the heat in the summer months. All fixed with a couple of turn down tips from AutoZone !! I also added running lights and shortened the tongue length. Don't travel without it !!!
