I'm very new to this type of thing (the forum). Also a new Stallion owner. I'm just learning the "ropes" with the Stallion. I signed up because I understand there are some good friends to be made among Stallion owners. Because of the cold (& often extreme wind) around here, I haven't been able to ride much yet, but I know that's gonna change.

I was riding a small Honda Reflex & loved it, but my dear family was worried & thought I should have 3 wheels instead of 2..........so found my dream vehicle. It's a cross between the motorcycle I love riding & the sports car that I could never have! YEA!!!

Is there anyone near NW KS that would like to ride?

Good for you finding just want you wanted! Riding a trike is a wonderful way to enjoy the road :D.
TrikeTalk has a riding club (also free to join) --- Trike Owners International. The membership is growing rapidly, and I encourage you to join. By registering there, you have access to a wonderful list of trikers near you and across the nation and the world. You can make contact with them and ride with them. This link will take you to the TOI information and registration page. It also links you to the list by country and state: Trike Owners International - Trike Talk Forum

Welcome grandmabee, you are now a member of the finest trike forum in the world. Glad you joined the group as an owner of a Stallion. In Great Bend KS., you have one of the finest Stallion Dealers there is: L & L Motorsports, and the owner Jermy Lewis.. Very customer oriented. We purchased our Stallion from them in 2009 and were very happy with the deal.. Did you buy a new or used one ? What color ? last 3 numbers of the Vin # ? Wishing you the best of times on your Stallion. any questions give us a call 847-274-7766 Charlie D ..ThumbUp:10:

Wow! It is a great feeling to be welcomed by you all! Thanks. My last 3 #'s on the vin are 373.......I got the trike used, but well-loved. I stopped in the Great Bend store once when I was shopping, but they told me that they hadn't been able to get one for a couple of years. I got this one from GA. Thanks for all your suggestions

Welcome to the forum.

Two suggestions to warm up the temos inside your Stallion.
1) Baker Air Dams, they will keep air off you and bring air in during the summer
2) get a vaccum hose off of an old shop vac and hook it over your heater vent. Then stick the other end of the hose under your jacket, turn heater wide open toasty warm

Granmabee,
Welcome to trike talk, I'm sure you will love your Stallion but you will find gas stops are a lot longer than anything you have done before"questions" ???. You can find answers to most any question you have about the Stallion here and everyone is willing to share their knowledge.

Ed

Granmabee,
The only thing nicer than this forum, is actually meeting the people that are here. They walk the talk and it is a real delight to meet them.
Enjoy!

Thanks Lunchbox for your suggestions. The closest Stallion dealer is 150 miles away. Where do I find the Braker Air Dams? Is it a product that I would need to purchase at the Stallion dealer or is it something that someone else carries. Also, I would need to have it installed, I'm sure. That really sounds like a great answer to my situation. It's warm out now, so I'm going for a ride! Later. Grandmabee

I've only filled up a couple times & I noticed how long it takes; fortunately, I'm out for the enjoyment & LOVE showing & telling all about my Stallion (at least the little I know).

hey grandmabee the baker wings might be easier to go on line and google it. if you want a local place go to a honda store that stocks stuff for goldwings. you will have to install yourself or find a goldwing rider.
you know that you have a 9.5 gal gas tank but when the gauge shows empty you have only used 6.5 gal so no big rush for gas cause you have about 90 more miles before you are empty. I get about 30mpg on the open road.

Greetings Grandmabee,
I recently (Dec. 8) got my stallion from Seminole Stallions and Trikes in Donaldsonville, GA. The owner Larry Hornsby told us he had recently delivered a bike to Kansas when he delivered mine here in central Oklahoma. Could that have been your Stallion? Due to work, holidays, and a recent cold I've only been able to ride twice. Today was one of those days and it was lovely.
I had a Suzuki Burgman 650 with a Danson Trike conversion before but due to fibromyalgia, had to quit riding it and sold it this past summer. My husband was going to sell his GW trike to buy a new 2012 Stallion, but was told in late November that they weren't making the 2012. He decided to keep his GW and get me a used Stallion so I could continue to ride. Since I can usually drive a car without too much discomfort, we hoped the Stallion would be a good fit.

So far, so good. I haven't read everything on this forum yet, but was told by a friend that it would help answer some of my questions.
Right now, I can't think of anything I need answered, but I'm sure I'll think of something in the next few days or when I get to ride again. Unfortunately, there is an arctic cold front coming in, so it may be a while. Jae, Central OK, '09 Blue w/Mustang stripes

You can purchase them on line straight from baker or any Honda dealer that sells wings. It takes some lining it up, then drill and 2 bolts each side.

Not hard but you do need to pay attention to whats on the other side of your drill holes as you may need to shift to get clearances. Any Wing dealer can fix you up.

Silverdevil, I was just beginning to figure out about the gas tank. I thought it went down awfully fast, but then it didn't take much when I filled it up. I rode on E for 20 miles to the next gas station & was more than a bit worried that I would make it. I haven't checked the mileage I get.

As far as the Baker WIngs, I will have to get someone to install because I'm not much good at any of that kind of thing. Always afraid I'll mess something up if I try it myself.

Schoolmarm........yes Larry Hornsby is where I got my Stallion. Actually, he delivered it to AR where I was visiting & later my brother-in-law brought it to me in KS when he came out. I am very anxious for continuous good weather, but I've been riding if it's above 50 & the winds under 30! That's still too windy, but we don't have a lot of choice out here on the prairie.........

GrandmaBee,
Congrats, you are going to love your Stallion. Silver Devil gave me a tip on buying snow (ski) pants instead of wearing leather chaps that I was used to on a motorcycle. Made a big difference in my comfort in cold temps, although TX is not as cold as KS. Have fun!

Hi,
Another thing to note is they are serviced at a Ford dealer, which is a whole lot cheaper than a Gold wing dealer as in 37.00 for a oil change ect.
One other thing if you are getting cold is to check out Gerbings heated clothing. They are great . I have Baker wings on my Stallion and they helped but wife still gets the wind.
Have fun.

Before you invest in the Baker air deflectors, you might want to look at the ones I use from AmadyneCorp. The require no holes in the body and can be removed with little effort if you want them off for some reason. You can look at my Stallion and others under the post of wind Deflectors by Tomg
