I have a Arlen Ness Big Sucker stage 1 filter kit I purchased via Fuelmoto when I bought my new head-pipes and slip on mufflers. I purchased the model with the chrome back plate and I am happy with it. This kit lets you keep the stock "103" air filter cover that came on my 16 Trike. The backing plate extends the filter out about an inch or so. I am trying to find a pre-filter that will fit over the stock "103" filter cover and slip down on the back as far as the chrome breather tubes will allow. Obviously the socks made just for the K&N type filters will not stretch enough to go around the stock cover. I would appreciate any help.

Hey Fuzzy

Yes, it is a tough find. I just want a sock to throw on when I know I have some heavy rain coming. This AC filter back-plate extends the back side of the actual filter out about an inch farther than stock. Water going over the back edge of the actual stock chrome cover actually can hit the "back" of the pleated part of the filter. Also, I would like to throw it on when washing the trike, just as a backup. Not having much luck though. Performance Machine shows one that looks to be a good bit bigger than a regular sock that just fits over the filter only. I am going to call them tomorrow and see if they think it will go over the stock 103 cover.
