Hello everyone. I am new at posting on forums so please be patient. I have been riding a trike since 2000. My first was a 1500 Goldwing with a Motortrike conversion kit. The next one was a 2004 Motortrike 1800 Goldwing. I am looking for a new Goldwing since I sort of totaled my last one, (not my fault), a car rear-ended a truck in the lane to my right which caused the truck to lose control, so I hit the truck's driver door going about 60 miles an hour. Not to worry, God had me in His hands. Dislocated my left hand, broke my left arm, cut my upper lip, and put a HUGE goose egg over my left eye. Lots of bruises everywhere. Everyone that saw it happen was amazed that I was not hurt worst. They say I was very lucky, but I tell them, no, I am very blessed. The other drivers were dazed but not hurt.

I may need lots of help in learning my way around the forum, so be kind.

Welcome Angel:It's good to hear of someone who crashes at that speed to come out of it as well as you. If you read the FAQ section that helps. If you run into a problem just post your questions and the fine people here will help you out. Hope you enjoy the community.:D

Wow! You ARE blessed without question! Thank you for sharing your experience.
I'm so glad you've joined here with all of us. Take your time, and never be afraid to ask a question.... if we don't know an answer, we find one for you. if we can't find an answer, we (very creatively, and with much humor) make one up. Fortunately, someone has always been able to find the real one in the end :D.

But Nana, you can fix anything with duct tape.:D

Welcome from Texas. Lucky you were on a trike too. I often think of things like that when I am riding close to 18 wheelers. Glad you were not hurt. I am sure with 9 years of trike riding you will be a great asset to this board. I started the same time you did June 2000

Welcome
I'm glad you joined the forum, and that you will be riding again.

Welcome aboard, from the Florida panhandle!

It's great to hear from someone who has survived a tangle with a "cager," and great that you continue to ride!

Hey, as far as being patient and helpful, this forum wrote the book. You will look long and hard to find a forum where folks are as welcoming and helpful as they are right here.

Thank you everyone for you kind words of encouragement. JuJu, there was a question of rather I would want to ride again. Backflashes of the crash are not fun, but they are not as vivid as they were the first few months.

I rode my husband's Harley Ultra trike in the Christmas toy run. I must tell you it was quite an experiance. There were about 2000 bikes participating in the run. I stayed close to the end of the group and had a great time.
:D

I think you have answered your own question on your replacement trike. You said you had a GW 1500 with a M/T conversion and an GW 1800 with a M/T conversion. You state you liked both of them a lot. You are in a crash with your GW 1800 M/T conversion at 60 mph and really came out of it in badly banged up but in repairable condition. Most bikers would not have. How much of that was because of the M/T conversion? No one can answer that for sure, but I would stick with what has worked well for you. I have a Champion, but I know the M/T is a fine product from a fine company, so why change. My wife has their Stallion trike and it is TOP DRAWER. The owner of M/T is renowned as a honest, and fine person. So why switch? If I were you I would not. Your angel maybe from M/T incorporated. Jeff is that good of a person. Ted

Angel, I'll say again, we're glad to have you with us. You know how it goes with the trikes, you'll see that one that grabs you, and your mind is made up...;)

Thank you Ted. I believe you are right. Now, it is just a matter of picking the color (red or blue). Jeff is a very special person. He called me after the accident and was so kind, and he has always gone out of his way to assist me with my trikes. I don't know why in the world I thought I needed a change. Again, thank you.

Welcome Angel. What a perfect handle for what you went through. Talk about having a Guardian Angel!!!!

Welcome to the forum! Good to see you getting back on the horse that threw you, so to speak. (BTDT) Some don't, they get spooked, but if we quit something everytime things went awry we'd all be hiding in bunkers. Nope, I say live life fully and go out smiling!

Angel, so glad things weren't as bad as they could have been. Not making light of what did happen to you, just glad it wasn't worse. Don't worry about the learning curve on useing the forum, I'm the worst when it comes to this sort of thing and they haven't kicked me out.......... yet! :D

Hey George. The ride in Kerrville sounds great. But I have to get my new trike first. I do not want to ride hubby's Harley trike again. The noise on that thing gives me a headache and the darn thing shakes too much.

Of course I have to find the the trike that talks to me before I buy it. :D Hopefully real soon. I have missed wayyyy too many riding days. :(
