Hey everyone. I am new to this whole thing. Been riding motorcycle my whole life. Grand parents rode and raced bikes in the 50's and 60's(They are in the history of Laconia book). They had 9 kids and most of them ride as well. One of them is my old man. I still do a little racing and restore/build bikes.

My father and I are building a few right now. A custom BSA, Kawasaki café racer, and even rebuilding the first bike my grandfather bought for his kids back in 1957, a 52 Mustang. Yes, there were bikes named mustang made in the U.S.
from 46 to 64 out of Glendale Ca.

Anyway, when it was my turn to have kids I found it hard to find time to ride. I really wanted to take them with me but 2 young boys on 2 wheels just did not work. So, I did want my grandfather did, I picked up a side car. It was straight out 70's with a scary stick welded frame that I did not trust. So I rebuilt the frame and up graded the suspension. It worked out great for awhile, but my boys are now out growing it.

So it just so happen a buddy of mine gave me a VW trike that someone left at his place years before. It needs some tlc but motor looks good. So hear I am starting to get info and looking for parts so when I start it soon I have what need in and when I pull the trigger. I hope to be able to pick some of your brains so maybe I can avoid making mistakes that others have made.
My boys are going to be on it so safety first. I hope there maybe some VW guys here and maybe some local. Thanx guys!!!
