I saw a vw chopper trike at a bike rally in Texas a couple years ago and was hooked, just had to have one. Well a couple months ago I really started searching and found one in Texas, got a good deal (it was in the big weeds collecting rust). Put new wheels and tires and a lot of other new parts. Changed the seating and moved it back to fit my long legs. Gave it some new paint. Did a bunch of reading on here and learned a lot. I'm finished now and having a blast riding it

Really nice clean trike welcome to the threads

Really the nicest VW trike I have seen for a long while clean well done! ThumbUpride safely and often fearless

Wayne, welcome to the forums and that's a really nice looking trike.

Welcome from Southeastern Illinois. Aunt and Uncle in Baton Rouge and Brother-in- Law in Garyville. Trying to get down there soon.

welcome aboard. nice restore job. Lots of them will be coming out of Texas now that they are not going to have their registration renewed on DIY projects

Thanks for the welcomes and nice comments. I had a blast working on it. A guy called "Wings" (Angelina customs) from Texas is the original builder. He's retired now but claims he's built a couple hundred of vw trikes. Got this one for $3500 and put probably another $2000 into it. I'm from Avoyelles parish, in the country. I found out after I bought it that Texas doesn't register home made anymore, dang I might of been able to get it cheaper, ha. Anyway thanks again and ride safe.

Here's my home made off road trike. We bring it to bike rallys and ride the hell out of it. Built from a side by side cart (chuckwagon) with an 11 hp Honda engine, girderDSC_0763.JPGDSC_0767.JPG front end and old Harley parts.
