Heel/Toe Shifter Safety Issue

While polishing the trike today, I noticed that the heel/toe shifter arm was loose and wobbly. I removed the assembly and found that the large bolt that is the swivel for the shifter arm was loose. It tightened up easily enough, but it made me wonder how long it would have been before it fell off. I also don't know how long it has been loose, as I have, of course, never noticed the problem before.

For anyone who has this type of shifter, I would urge you to check it periodically.

Funny you posted this.. I just change that bolt yesterday.. 1/4 inch by 3/8 allen.
And if the rod was to fall off , You wound't be able to shift..
See my post on; What did you do to your Tri-Glide today...
