Yeah, well, I've never polished my boots in my life, but I still like using the heel shifter. I didn't know it adjusts though. Now I'm going to lower it down a little as soon as I figure out how to adjust it.

Lost my heel shifter somewhere in Ohio last year. Took a little while to get used to using the toe but I don't miss it now.

I only use the heel shifter to pop/drop the trans into neutral, And i noticed that if i do use the heel shifter' The mechanism tends to scuffs up the heel on my spit-shined boot...But for some unexplained reason it only does it to the left boot heel.... :Shrug:
