Heated grips

Make sure you put a bead of silicon sealant around the end of the grips, so they won't fill w/rain water!
Had a set of Harley heated grips fail due to water intrusion. Fortunately, I knew the owner and he replaced them free!
The great service writer more or less told me I shouldn't be ridding in the rain

I have heated grips on my FLRT.

What shields are you referring to? I installed the mid heat deflectors on my FLRT. Same ones that come with the TriGlide.

My dealership said you can't add heated grips on the Freewheeler due to diameter of handle bars. How did you get them.

Installed a set on my Free and they work just fine. becarfule when removing throttle side the little ribbon cable will break if you dont take care. I know had to replace the whole part.

Now in Central Florida, I have no need but I have had heated grips on several bikes and wouldn't be without them if I still lived up north.

Got the heat shields but dealer said no HD heated grips. The parts book says the same. The mechanics said the Freewheeler bars are too narrow for the wires.

I have the contoured heated hand grips that are listed as an accessory for the Freewheeler as well as a few other styles. Your dealership doesn't know Jacks@@t! I'd find a different dealership!

Like FLRT says, they fit. On the MoCo website there is at least a 1/2 dozen heated grips that are listed under the FLRT accessories. I have the Streamliner heated grips. Installing them can be a PITA but they do fit.
