Met a guy at the VT welcome center . He was riding an 05 Tour Glide . STOCK. An old guy asked him questions. What cc he said 1400 then he asked how many Horses . The HD rider told the old guy 110hp. I told the guy I ride a GW trike. HE says not me too dangerous they tip over real easy. Anyway you got to go really slow because of the way they turn. Then he says you got an old one or a new one? I said 1997. Oh he says HD just came out this year with a new kind , better than the old stuff. The old guys says My last bike was a 1200 Sportster. The guy/ HD rider says oh that must have been in the 60s cuz they don't make them no more . and then he left. I was laughing all the way to my car.

Proof positive that it's not only the age of information, but also, ironically, the age of MISinformation! :D The only trouble is that people like that are spreading their misinformed drivel everywhere.

Keep up the good fight, John!

The nerve of that guy proproting to the THE Harley expert, when everyone knows that the real expert would be ME! :p

Seriously, some people talk when they have something to say, some, like this guy say something because they have to talk. And don't let facts or reason get in the way. That just muddies the issue.

Say... was the guy on the guy on the Tour Glide in politics?

Well he was a ,look what I drive, Harley guy. I bet he didn't know a valve from a piston. Got to say he was driving it. There are some that just look at them . Our paper For Sale adds are full of very low mileage HD ( 2004 with 600 miles etc. )
BTW how far off was he with the HP . I know a guy had his dynotuned and it was not even close to 100 HP. is that right?

Well the earlier Twin Cams (pre-2007) were 1450cc motors and around 60hp in stock form.
My 1999 Dyna Wide Glide with a stage 2 (cams, a/c & pipes) and a
1550cc big bore kit with high comp. heads was dynoed at 103 TQ & 90 HP.
Rob .....

That is what I thought . I know some guys are surprised when the get the dyno reports from the MR DYNO at Americade. They look at it and say something is wrong only 67 HP . The HD is a lot of Torque. HP is not that much. My 500 Shadow has 55 hp. but at 5,000 RPM . and the Sporster story . They were making the Sportster way back in the 70's till just yesterday.

I know they made then in 1972 because I bought one ,it was 1000 cc, went out got drunk, road it to KY and met this gril on 7/4/72 and got married in NOV. Do not know what went wrong but sold bike, don"t drink anymore, still got the girl
