Had already mount the Side car on 750 Street . It worked well. I wanted to improve the lower rear mount. Today I got it made . Using the Bikes mount for Master Cly,Master Cyl and exhaust and foot peg/brake pedal mount.

Running the Inch and half stock forward to the foot peg/brake pedal mount strengthens the over all mount and prevent any forward or rear movement. My goal was to not do anything to the bike that could not be just taken off and bike would be as if it was never there. It will be a couple day before I mount it on the bike. Have other things to do. Got lucky on this one everything lined up first shot.

Interesting combo. Looks like you're getting er done, Robert.

Since HD was out of the sidecar business when the "Street" midsizes came out, what brand sidecar, if you know?

It has a Velorex 563 same as the 562 except heavier frame. Had it on my 1996 Fatboy for 3 1/2 years . been on the Street a little while works great just improving the mounts. It worked out so well it is staying on the Street.

Nice set up y'a got there Robert :clapping: I like it!

No denying the Velorex is on the lower end. When purchased the idea was short rides in parade for Payton. It did not take long to realize how well it worked and to really expand it's use..

This the bike it spent the first 3 1/2 years on. I had not had any experience with a Hack in over 35 years. Forgot how much fun and useful they could be. Purchase and install on the Fatboy was not bad , Car was new Total with local HD installing it had about $4,700 in it. The swap over to the Street we did about $200 in parts to make a couple of the mounts.

Anyone looking into such an adventure, I am will to share experiences cost and how it all went. Just as I am looking for shared knowledge on the next one. A Classic twin on a Road Glide Ultra. The project has already started.

sidecar mounts

over the last 30 yrs i have mounted more side cars than i can remember... hands down the lower rear mount on the velorex is THE WORST mount i have ever seen

here are some pics of the ones i use (1st two) and stock mount as you can see there are too many pivots in the lower rear mount... if you weld it all together an add some gussets it might be ok but if my name is on it it get the one i use!! jmo

Thanks for the post. The way I had the lower rear worked , but I wanted to clean it up some and improve it. To night or tomorrow I will install the new bracket. The Street narrows option for the rear mount.

just hate to see anyone get hurt with that stock mount

a local shop did on on a little honda 750... nice little combo .. came to me with the bike and chair leaning towards each other..almost touching each other .. happened at lo speed so no injury

... whew

The same car was mounted on my 1996 Fat boy softail for 3 1/2 years. It never had an issue. Surprised never had to tighten anything up. The first mount to the 750 Street worked but the rear lower mount was to far forward. Moved it back to improve it. This bracket will move it back some more and allow a 90 degree connection. May put it on today.

The bracket posted was welded at all seams before installing. I agree the universal type mounts are in some case questionable. In my case used them to get it close then improve.

Weather today will get in upper 30's , plan to get out and test it some more. Yesterdays ride included a road that will destroy just about any vehicle. Also put some one on it that is a lot heavier than I am.

Once the sidecar Classic twin goes on the RGU, we are keeping this Street with the Velorex. It is fun .

Changed the sidecar tire today. It was the one that came with the Sidecar a cheaper brand. Thread was still ok but sidewalls were crack and I don't trust that. Put a Harley front tire on direct replacement all is good. I want to try a car tire on it but clearance may be to close width wise and did not have time right now to mess with something that might or might not work.

Tire had 4,000 miles on it and the wear was even right down the middle.
