I have a 2012 T/G ... I have been reading about oil pressure. Almost looks its at 0 at a idle. I know everyone says don't worry. I live in San Antonio and just purchased the bike last week. It only has 1800 miles and I put 200 on it this weekend and just noticed the oil pressure . Just need any information from other owners. It does get up to about 25 when running at 65MPH.
Thanks for reading

Mines a little higher, but the gauges are not known for their accuracy. Do you have over 30 when cold? Do you know what oil is in there? Could just need some good oil.

Welcome Roket and greetings from Long Island. I would recommend switching to synthetic oil. With 71k miles on my '10 TG, the engine/tranny are the two components I have faith in. Sitting in heavy traffic up here near NYC gives my trike a good workout. Sitting idling never a concern. Note there is a function that with shut off your rear cylinder if you get too hot in traffic (if function turned on).

That's a stock motor for you. I have the SE oil pump with a pressure relieve spring in it and I get 30lbs at idle and 50lbs at speed.

When cold' At start up in winter 60+/-
At highway speeds 32+/-
Hot at idle About 5.... looks scary, But it's normal..

I have Harley syn. oil ... and it only has 800 miles on the oil .... I will check it tomorrow at idle when its cold

I believe you guys in Texas get really hot weather! with that said; Ever thought about going to Redline 20w60w oil ? it's not cheap but will help keep that oil Higher and a lot more protective....just my 2 cents:Coffee:

Oil pressure should be up around 30 when fully warmed up at 3000 rpm, and closer to 10 at an idle.

Per the HD Manual, run the recommended viscosity oil for the temps you are riding in.

I once read an article by a well know Harley mechanic a few years back. When hot oil pressure at idle was brought up, he said with a Harley that he would be more concerned how much air was in the tires than oil pressure at idle.
