Harley Recall

Seen on facebook(CBS Money watch). Harley's recalling 66,000 bikes. Touring and CVO touring with Antilock brakes. July 1 2013 to May 7th 2014. Company knows of 5 crashes. The front wheel could lock up while riding.
 
Thank god for that. I don't like ABS - on bikes or cars.
I think ABS is for drivers who don't know how to drive. I feel more comfortable in my stopping ability then relying on a machine to do it for me.

I saw a demonstration years ago with a bike with ABS and outriggers. It was amazing how much safer the bike with ABS was in a stopping situation. It's not only stop quicker but it stayed upright. ABS has proven time after time to be a most effective way to stop a vehicle in a timely manner. Studies have shown that the drivers that have problems with ABS and cars is the fact they try to pump on their brakes instead of letting the ABS do their job.
