Ok A little rant here about he MoCo. New 2018 115th Tri Glide. Got used to the steering etc coming from a Road Glide. I open the included package for he Premium Stereo Headset # 77147-98A to install on our brain buckets this past Wednesday and lo and behold ONE UNIT!!!!!!!!!!!

I paid a lot of money for this limited edition 115th MC and you would THINK the moco would include 2 head sets for such a touring bike. What am I supposed to do talk to myself??

I had an UIltra that came with 2 now it cones with one. Talk about corporate greed. I did call the moco and let them know I am not pleased with them know of my displeasure and the response was "If we supplied two we would have had to charge more for the bike." What a dipstick attitude.

Yes, I should have asked the magic question while purchasing but When they said helmet headset is included I thought I heard plural as I was excited to have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition bike.

Ah well lesson learned even in my old age...

I think the key word there Chip , is Stereo, as in listening to music  MOCO cost is under $100 , I’d insist on a second unit after spending over 34k :gah:

Trade in the T shirt !

But, but...Did you get a free T-shirt? That balances it out.Its like the multi tool that my salesman said is no longer provided with the '18 Freewheeler.I had to queer him out to get it.Helps if you proclaim it loudly in front of other customers.

I have two of them, The first one cost 29k back in 2011, The second one cost 10k in 2017 haven't used either of them, If i put them on my helmet then that would make my 79 dollar helmet too valuable to leave un-guarded on my seat...:D

Besides talking into a mic would probably make me look like a boy racer...

I got the tool with my 2011 and my 2017...Left the tool in the 2011 when i traded it in so the next owner could try to figure out what to use it for.:D..The ''T'' shirt and the 1k discount, Plus the first two labor free services i kept...I'm nice but not too nice...;)

If one wired headset bothers you, your really going to be pissed when you find out the Anniversary Edition doesn't come with Sirius or BlueTooth, And, I just don't know why the hell they couldn't add the windshield trim, all that fancy chrome and no windshield trim.

;)

As far as I'm concerned. Harley Davidson has gotten cheap in the last few years. If it doesn't have the CB included, It's no longer an Ultra in my book. Every Ultra I've purchased has always included a CB. Also every Ultra I've bought include only one headset. I guess I got used to that. I've bought 17 Harley's over the last 25 years. Every year I've noticed less and less. This is the Last Harley I'm ever buying. Not saying I'm giving up riding though. Just my thought's.

yes

well alack of sirius does not bother me and there is bluetooth for my phone so I am ok with that.

I always get a chuckle out of these communication threads.Never saw a need for communicating. When I ride my bike/trike it's a form of therapy-don't need any yapping in my ear.Gota be about forty years now when I invented a highly refined and complex commo system:Hey sweetie-tap my right shoulder if you gotta pee, tap my left if your hungry.Entertainment?Don't need no stinkin entertainment system.Since '74 I've had a full blown Grand Funk Railroad concert playing in my head.

There is a lot of the very expensive Nav system that you paid for that will not work without the SIRIUS Radio, The Bluetooth for your phone will not connect to most anything else like wireless headsets among other things, it can only connect to one thing at a time. As you explore, you are going to find that there are things you want to use that require the WHIM and or SIRIUS (MAYBE).

Old Road Dog I have been riding for 50 years and I like comfort and riding. Not a RUB and not a 1% So I value your opinion as well but to me opinions are like butt holes we all have one unless we have a colostomy bag. Thanks for your input. Hope this made you chuckle ......

Understand some folks don't like or want communications - no intercom with co-rider, no CB with riding fiends, no radio, music, Sirius XM, etc., etc. But I appreciate all these modern conveniences! I like to communicate with my sweetie if I see something interesting or need to advise her of something and she me also. And I like to talk to my riding buddies if it is something worth communicating and not idle chatter. And I like grooving to the 60s music on Sirius XM or some of my favorite tunes on my thumb drive.

With that being said I hate the HD provided headset. Yes I do have some hearing difficulty but with my J&M headset it is so much better.

So if you want my HD heaset that came with my 2018 TG let me know. I'll give it to you if you pay the postage.

Speechless

Hi Chip,

I see you're from De Forest. I live in New Glarus now, but am originally from Sun Prairie so I'd say we are practically neighbors. Congrats on the 115th Tri-Glide, beautiful bike! Did you get it at H-D of Madison? I have a 2015 TG.

Concerning the issue of only one headset, my previous ride was an '09 Ultra and it came with just one headset. Don't know when H-D stopped including 2? And yes the Ultra did use to include the CB radio, and so did the TG. I believe they quit including the CB on the Ultra and TG in '14 with the Rushmore models. They did still include the CB on the Limited and Road Glide Ultra through the '16 model year. Now it's only included on the CVO Limited. I know it's one more way the MoCo is being cheap. But if you consider the number of Harley riders who don't use headsets or even where helmets for that matter, it seems to me that the majority of owners could probably care less that the CB is no longer included. That being said, my wife and I have owned several touring bikes over the past 20+ years (not all of them Harleys), and we've always used headsets and CB. So when we bought the TG we had the optional CB installed.

Hi. I actually went to Mischlers in Beaver Dam. Yes CB is now an option hell seems everything is lol, but not having 2 communicators when I had 2 on my ultra pissed me off. Ride Safe!

Chip, Congrats on the New TG! I believe the 2018 TG comes with the WHIM (wireless headset interface module) installed, which alows you to connect 2 bluetooth headsets (rider and passenger) to your Infotainment radio. and, you can also connect your smart phone. The Bluetooth headsets are also able to hook up to 4 to 8 other riders depending on what kind you buy. There is one catch though, if you do not get the Harley Davidson stamped headset, you will not get STEREO through your headsets.

Sena is the maker of the headsets foe HD, and the Sena Hsets are cheaper, and they will connect with the radio, but if they don't have the HD logo, No Stereo.

Unfortunately the WHIM comes standard only on the CVO Limited. All others must purchase the WHIM and as you stated the HD branded headsets in order to get stereo sound.

For the price of these items I'll stick with the corded headsets and not have to worry about battery life, bluetooth pairing, etc., etc. I don't think this setup is ready for prime time just yet. Harley seems to have enough problems with its infotainment system even without this added complexity.

NO WHIM
