My personal experiences here in Florida where rain is a BIG factor I have found when I pull the clutch in to start in gear if I hear a clicking noise I shoot some WD40 in the perch on the clutch handle and I am back in working order

Call me goofy but it works on my Freewheeler

I suspect some time soon I will get a complete no start, I will have it replaced under warranty then;)

Even if pull in clutch, still have to put in neutral for it to crank. If I am in neutral don't have to pull clutch in to crank it. Is there something wrong with my switch?

Maybe not. I need to apply either the front or rear brake as well on my 2016

TG. Disengage clutch apply brake and boogie.

I found this out sitting in an intersection when I stalled the bike right after I bought it. I was not used to the dang hydraulic clutch and at that time neutral was no where to be found. When I look back now it is kind of funny.

A buddy of mine had the same problem finding neutral after buying his bike in Sturgis. One time it took him 30 minutes to get in neutral (being new bike). The dealer never told him about the clutch-brake start. I picked it up off the internet and forwarded it to him. It was funny the first time but frustrating multiple times later

Believe it or not , Some of the very ''Astute'' ;)-;) service mangers haven't grasped that fact..

ie; Whenever in gear the brake must be applied to start the engine ...

WD40 is the worst crap to be spraying into anything.Eventually it will gum up the works. As has been said contact cleaner would be better. You want to dry out not displace moisture.

You have to apply front or rear brake also to start in gear, with clutch pulled in

If you have a no crank your clutch switch may be bad

Harley has an updated switch now

And a new clutch lever for the 17s and 18s.
