Handle bar cover

How do I get that nice chrome cover off of the handle bars ? I would like to change the bars but ?

You have to remove the round fork lock cover first. Two screws under that. Pry the bottom of the handlebar cover (tank side) up and you should now have access to the the handlebar riser bolts.
