I've had Harley CVO Ultras / Limited since 2005 and they all had heated seats - the last several with the Hammock seat. This new Tri-Glide of course does not have this seat and I am considering adding it. But H-D p/n 52000177 states that the seat will not fit with the passenger grab rail. My co-rider likes the grab rail and I know several things H-D says will not fit actually will. So just wondering does anyone have this seat on their Tri-Glide? And will the passenger grab rail still fit with it?

The fitment disclaimer:

Fits ‘14 Touring and Trike models. Separate purchase of Electrical Harness Extension P/N 69200722 is required. Not for use with Adjustable Rider Backrest kits or Passenger Grab Rails.

Seat/grab rail

I have the Hammock seat (not heated) on mine but my buddy/I did a MINOR mod

to it........removed the cover and trimmed just a little foam off-replaced cover and

viola......great fit.......probably 5 or so years now NO PROBLEMS!

I highly recommend that SEAT.....just turned 90 thou. miles on my 2010 HD trike!

I also have the adjustable backrest on it.....

I have the non-heated Hammock Seat on my '17 tri-glide WITH the adjustable rider backrest AND the stock passenger grab handles. Works great. The dealer installed both the seat and backrest when I bought the bike AFAIK without modifying anything.

I know this will add to expenses, but if she's against taking of the grab rails, offer to buy arm rests instead, so you can have the seat. That way she (and you) can have the best of both worlds.

Hammock seat

I just put a Hammock Seat on my 2016, tried to leave the hand holds on but not enough clearance for me. It may go on but I feel the seat would be adversely impacted. Very expensive but I’m pleased with the Hammock.

My buddy had his stock hand holds cut and re-welded to fit around his road zeppelin seat.

The kuryakyn 1609 Passenger grab rail is another choice that may work better with wider seats.

Have the standard passenger grips on my '13 TG, no problem. Now my Hammock seat is un-heated which might make a difference on the seat heater controls. As far as the seat, one of the best HD has put out.

O/p, do you not have a dealer near you with a demo seat that you could test fit ? That would be the quickest way to find out imho.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. Actually I do and I did just a couple days ago. No joy on fitting with the passenger grab rails but otherwise fit and looks good. Just unsure at this point what I'm going to do if anything. Still exploring options.

As HDBOB noted, you can cut the mounting plate for the grab rails, where they bolt under the seat, and widen them to work with the seat.

On another note....Mary just got back from Missoula, MT. She was visiting our son and granddaughter. He has heated seats in his car and Mary has mentioned it a couple of times already. hahahaha, me thinks she would really like a heated seat on the TG for when we ride in the cold. Gonna wait and see if she forgets about it, or if it becomes one of those "we need to get this" things.

Ha, ha. Good luck with that! This'll show my age for sure but it's kinda like what my business partner told me back in the early 80s when he got a new TV and learned that: a remote control is not a necessity . . . until you've had one!

That's funny Kevin. You know they don't forget...anything! :)

Is your adjustable back rest style with the lever that when you pull it, you can move forward and back a little bit or is your adjustable one where you just adjusted up and down and you pre-mounted where you wanted adjusted originally
