About a month ago, the wife asked if I was
going to Sturgis, I told her I was thinking
about it, she replies, Im not going this
year
OH DARN(LOL)(NOT)

Last night (out of the blue)
after supper she asks if I am
still thinking about Sturgis, I told her I
was. Then I pulled out the atlas and showed
her what I was looking at.
She wanted to know if we could stay
three or four days instead of two.
OH DARN
(she doesnt want to rush this trip).
I said I would look into it LOL

It's pretty late to be planning a trip to Sturgis this year, isn't it? Unless you're camping, then I think you're OK. But if you plan on a hotel / motel stay, my understanding is everything is pretty much booked for this year.

I could be wrong of course. I've never been to Sturgis but have always wanted to go. Me and a friend are looking at booking a hotel for the 2015 rally.

Motel 6 still had some nights open later in the week
at Rapid City
We stayed there last year.

On the advice of a friend, we are gonna try the budget inn in hot springs.
I already have reservations for three nights. they are filling up fast.
It is 80 miles south of Sturgis.
We are going to Sturgis one day,
then spend some time in the custer park
the needles highway and the iron mt road.

Good one :laugh:.....I'm getting the Sena SMH5 Bluetooth so my co-pilot doesn't have to yell and bang on my helmet to get my attention. Just got to have those instructions.

Some have GPS,some have none.I'm very lucky to have PMS on the back of our trike to "tell me where to go".

I just booked at the Comfort Suites in Rapid City. Sounded like they had several rooms left. They are rooms with 2 queen beds for around $300. Might be able to talk them down. Nice quiet area close to the interstate.

2015 is going to be EXPENSIVE. They are expecting about twice the usual amount of people.

Worse comes to worse,
some of the inlaws live a couple of hours away.
hmmm, maybe I can leave the wife there LOL

If you could split that $300 with family or friends,
it would definitely make it cheaper.

The room I looked at there recently was only 50 bucks more for two more
people. (of course, with all the people there, they would probably have no
idea how many people in a room)
