I have not posted on here in awhile about my trike experience. To be honest for some time I really did not think I would get it down but after putting 3000 miles on it my wife and I both love it. I had a issue with it pulling to the right and sent it back to the installer. He told me he found nothing wrong but when I got it back it was different. I do think he found and adjusted some thing and for some reason does not want to tell me. I try to challenge myself as much as possible and it really has worked. I learned so much on here especially form the Thread ( Bike to Trike ). I do really good in the twisty,s etc, but the interstate still bugs me only because the trucks just blow you around. I think it is because of the big fenders on the Road Smith that catch the wind a lot. Thank you all for your support.

Glad things are turning around for you Jim. We all get pushed around by the big rigs. I try to put as much space between them and me as possible. Seems to help some. Other then that -- HOLD ON TIGHT!!!:)

I think I had the same feelings as you. We have about 3000 miles behind us and I have warmed up to the trike. Still not giving up my 2-wheeler when I am riding solo, but for 2 up, I am really liking the trike.

Thats got to be tough jumping from 2 back to 3 wheels etc.

Jim - we're glad to hear you're getting "in the grove". Keep in touch as to how you're doing. If you ever get "down the shore", send an email ahead of time to: (fill in the blanks) trike.nj at gmail, etc. - we could try for coffee or whatever. In the meanwhile, have fun, post often, ride safe!

Glad things are looking up for you all. That is indeed good news..

I haven't been on a trike long myself, since last October. Some experience prior to the goldwing.
I do have 52 years riding experience and most of which is valuable when riding a trike.
Big trucks can be a pain but there is ways to lower it some. If at all possible do not ride directly behind one, use another lane if possible. That alone will reduce a lot of it. I am afraid of big truck, I will not ride behind one unless trapped. I have seen what can happen when a tire blows to a motorcyclist, too many times.
i either pass em or let them go on their way.
Good to hear the news.
I know almost everyone dislikes the big trucks. To be safe we need to. Most of them are good drivers and I am in no way reflecting on a driver or a company.
Being just to the side, in a another lane, can help a lot.

I have the Baker trike wings installed and they direct a lot of air out and away from fenders on my RS. You might want to give them a try. It also greatly reduces the amount of air buffeting my passenger that normal hits those fenders and rides up under her helmet. She noticed big difference with trike wings installed. Plus, I have the full set of Baker wings to manage all the air flow.

Nah, no problem...when I got Our first GL1800 Gold Wing Trike, I still owned a PCX150 Scooter, CBR1000RR Sport Bike (lovingly referred to as a "crotch rocket" by Some...:D), a 750 Phantom Cruiser, a 50cc Ruckus Scooter, and a VTX1800 Cruiser.....still rode em' all, swapping back and forth, until I sold all but the 750 Phantom and PCX150.....ThumbUp

Thanks Fuzzy, about 3 years ago I woke up one Sunday morning with complete loss of hearing in one ear. 2 days later the vertigo kicked in, i could not walk across the room. It took me 6 months to get over it but I always wonder if it will ever come back. Be safe. If you know a guy by the name of Jim D,Annabell in Grand Junction tell him I said hey.

I will do that if we get down that way. Would you be interested in the NJ Lighthouse Challenge?

Took me a little while to feel comfortable on the trike. I don't like big trucks either. Occ trouble with vertigo also. Now have arthritis in knees. With the trike those things don't matter. I'm loving it! :Dorag:

Spent some time up on Interstate 80 in NJ today did really good. Except for the tractor and trailer trying to run me over all is good. Next weekend I need to be on the highway riding to my trike course, which I am looking forward to. I signed up for the course when I was still uncomfortable with the trike but still think I can get some good things out of it.
