I'm trying to replace the front speakers on my 2005 Wing. For those of you who have done this,,,, how the heck do you get to the speaker screw in upper outboard side of each speaker? The dash is directly over that screw! grrrrr,,,...

Doesn't look like you are getting much action here Rich.

I looked in the service manual and they don't seem to think it's any big deal. Just says to remove the "Meter Panel" (dash) and then remove the four screws holding the speaker in. Is there enough room to get an off-set screwdriver in there? To be honest I've never even noticed how the speakers are mounted...

Hope you get it figured out.

New speakers are in. All I had to do was remove the plastic which was directly over the top outboard screw with my dremel. The dash panel still covers the removed underlying plastic. Piece of cake! ThumbUp

And by the way,,, I replaced the stock dash panel with the 'medium carbon fiber dash panel' offered on Wing Stuff. It looks fantastic! It matches the color of the trike perfectly! :10:

Go to the GL1800 Riders web site and search front speakers. I believe you have to "cut/grind" to plastic away from the top of the screw so you can unscrew the screw.
From what I remember, this will make the whole things easier to do!
Good luck. If you have any problems at the GL1800 site, PM me and I will try to get in and search for the front speaker because I am a member.
Good luck!

Rosy,

That's exactly what I did. I posted that earlier, lol. Thanks anyway for the suggestion and interest! ThumbUp
