Garmin on a Goldwing ?

I'm happy with my Ram mount. Particularly like the ability to tweak the viewing angle as the sun angle changes. Easy to remove at stops and it stays put when you want it to.

Had a RAM mount also on our 1500, used the clutch clamp mount on the the left side with 2 balls - 1 for a music player (Mp3 or my phone) and the top ball for the GPS. Put a single ball on the right brake clamp for a drink holder. Have this set up on the current trike as shown below. There are all sorts of mounting systems on the RAM website. I like the clutch/brake clamp mount, a buddy with a 'Wing likes the reservoir mounts and a friend with a HD has the u-bolt handlebar clamp. Lots of options on the RAM site: https://www.rammount.com/products/motorcycle#/

I went to a Ram setup like shown above. Its not a fun feeling catching your gps while it dangles from the wires which is what happened several times using the mounting setup that comes with the Garmin. No problems with the Ram.Money well spent.

on my 1990 SE I used the same type of mount as Ozarkrider but I put mine on the left because for me it interfered with the choke lever. I had a GPS on one ball and the Satellite radio on the other. The radio played thru the bike radio and the gps thru a wire that I had Sierra electronics add. It would take either the GPS or an mp3 player.I put a socket in the right fairing pocket to power them. Sorry no pictures and the trike is now sold to another.

Garmin on my Goldwing

Sept. 6, 2015

I mounted my Garmin on the center of the console below the key. I used double back 3M tape and mounted the standard round black piece of plastic that comes with the Garmin. I ran the 12 wire from inside the left glove compartment where there is a 12 volt receptacle. Works great. I can pop it off anytime I want to..

I mounted my Garmin right in the center below the ignition key...Used the black plastic mount that comes with the Garmin and used 3M double back tape to hold it on. Got the 12 volts from the left glove compartment where I have a cigarette lighter socket.. Works great and I can remove it any time I want to just by snapping the lever on the mount.
