I've been using my garage door remote when I ride, but sometimes I forget to bring it, or have to get off the spyder to retrieve it off the workbench before I can ride off. I also have 3 motorcycle jackets and the one I'm wearing never has the remote in it lol.

Some will say just put it in your pants pocket which I have many times, but it always gets caught tangled in my keys or my streamline flashlight or pocket knife gets in the way and I look like a monkey trying to you know what witj a football.

The fix was a product from Slingmods. The Door mate 2 garage door opener. It worked perfect with the Lift master door opener. Easy to install with the provided double side tape or you can buy the handlebar mount (like I did).

Anyway it works great, I won't forget it, and it's easy to find and operate. I have no affiliation with this company but I've ordered stuff from them in the past. Good folks.
Cheers!

I forgot to mention , that in the past I just opened up a remote control, found the switch inside and soldered the 2 wires that operates the button and connected those to a momentary switch or in my case push button. Then I found a secure location under the body work or side covers on a motorcycle and used double side tape to mount the remote, then drilled a hole in the side cover to mount the momentary button. That worked great. I didn't feel like doing all that this time, so I took the easy way out.
"Hey" I'm getting old and the shop is hot as heck. Cheers

That looks to be a pretty slick unit! Technology steps in again! (I had to do a search to see what I needed to look for in your picture....)

Everything we own has the flash2pass units and love those, just flash the hi-beams....

Dang man ! What a great idea! (y) I forget mine all the time, (I remember forgetting the actual control, when I'm 1/2 mile up the street...
The problem that I have, is that my driveway is on a slight incline, so I can't just park it in neutral, and run into my house to retrieve it. I actually have to shut off engine/place bike in gear (so it doesn't roll out into busy street) remove keys to open my locked home door, and get the electric door open'rrrr.. THANKS for the idea

Guess I am sort of lost. When I back out of my driveway, I use my remote to close the door. This means that I have the remote on the bike.

How are you guys closing the door if you are forgetting the remote? Or, are you driving that 1/2 mile and have to come back home to close the door?

Oppppps sorry! the actual button is attached, on the inside of the garage door, (I just push button/and that closes the door) and my remote is hangin inside my house... (oh yea,) I forgot to mention, that wife will not like me to enter house with shoes on (we have a breezeway, that we enter first/so shoes "MUST"come off before entering house) this keeps kitchen floor much clean'rrrr longer.....(wife's rule, that I respect o_O !!!)
I've own'd my house now, for 39 years, and NEVER had a car in my garage.. (motorcycle and tools only) "Both our cars are parked out in driveway"

I did basically the same thing with the momentary switch but it was for my gate, now I have my gate and the shop door on my phone and I can open them from as far away as I want too but the gate has a timer and will close in two minutes,

Hey Ronnie, it depends on what opener you have. I have a liftmaster door opener and use there MYQ app on my phone and I can open it from just about anywhere. I have opened it so the kids could get something while I was on vacation that's better than hiding a key and then telling someone where it is

I too have a liftmaster and use the MyQ app a times. For the most part, I look at it when out of town to make sure all is OK.

Ronnie - we are lucky in that we have a 3-car garage, both trucks and the motorcycle are parked inside.

I added a Sling Mod door opener to my Tri Glide. This product is flying under the radar. Not many know about it. When I posted it on a HD forum, there was high interest.

I've live'd in my present home now for "only 39 years"...... with a one car garage, and "NEVER" had a car in that garage, only a (different) motorcycle was inside, through out the years.. I'd love to move, and find a three car garage, to also put our cars in as well, BUT it's BEEN, "PAID FOR IN FULL" for over thirty years, and the last "thing" I need at my age (74 yrs) is another mortgage payment.:eek: But I can sit in my garage and service my TRIKE, with a (s)mile on my face... it's big enough for my tools, trike, and lawn mower,

Damm straight!
Nothing like quality time in your garage taking care of your trike. A cool drink and some good tunes. 👍🏻
