Front wheel tire pressure

I put a Freewheeler front wheel on my Tri glide. I don't know what the recommended tire pressure is. What does the Freewheeler owners manual recommend or what PSI do you run? Thanks NC Triker

It seemed to me that my OEM Dunlop 408 when run at the factory recommended 36 psi, was slightly overinflated. This is based on my 1st 3,300 miles of mainly highway miles.

I have sinced lowered my pressure to 34 psi and the next 3,300 miles I am happier with the wear pattern of the 408 Dunlop.

I am pleased with the overall wear & performance of this tire, but like most, always strive for improving performance. There are several front tires for Freewheeler owners to consider and the prices are mostly within $20 of each other. It is impressive how the overall tire performance has improved over the years.

I feel that you can't really go wrong with the top manufacturers.

I'm pretty sure they say "recommended" tire pressure. Not mandatory. Everyone needs to play with tire pressure to get what works for them. On my Indian, still just 2 wheels, I had to add air pressure well over the recommended. But I now have a bike that handles like it is 400 pounds lighter. Still get great tire mileage. Many said I'd wear just a narrow patch in the middle of the tire. Pure bunk. Yes, I do get the flat spot but that's from these flat roads with little to no curves. But on a recent trip thru Arkansas my land yacht kept up with the hotdoggers on much smaller bikes just fine too. Just do what works for you. You'll be fine.
