front brake pad life

I have a 2010 GL1800 comfort/audio Goldwing with a 2019 CSC Viper conversion installed on the GW @ 7,400 miles that has 31,000 miles now. I would like to have similar set up owners chime in at about what miles (after trike conversion) you put on new front brake pads.... I know it depends on riding style, type, etc but I don't do stop and go, in town riding...just 3 to 7 day trips on the open road...I have done the rear brake reservoir warranty and have the original intergrated Honda brake system...Anyone who can give me their opinion on when front pads were replaced, I would appreciate your input. Thanks

I just replaced the front brake pads on mine. I had almost 25,000 miles on those and had last replaced them in May of 2019. And that was mix of stop and go, long highway miles, some pulling a trailer, some not and if course quite a bit of aggressive Twisties. When I pulled the old ones out, they still had some life in them. The wear lines were still there but close to being gone. I know I still could have gotten quite a few miles more out of them but I just felt comfortable changing them now.

I had changed them before that in 2014 but don't remember the mileage, maybe mid 40k.

So check for the wear lines on the 2 of the individual 4 pads, both inside and outside. If you can see the wear lines, you're still good. But if you are thinking about changing the pads, even if they have some life, it's gonna be eating at you until you do. That's how I am. And new pads do feel amazing, nice solid stopping.

I forgot to mention that in 2014, this was 2 wheels and converted to a trike in July 2016. So the first change after conversion was after traveling about 25000 miles and that's about what this latest was. But also had maybe another 10000 miles previously on them as a bike. I tend to be a bit hard on the front brakes.
