Freewheeler antenna mount??

I have a 2016 freewheeler that I purchased used last year. It has an aftermarket batwing fairing with Rockford Fosgate stereo. My problem is that the small hidden antenna is about useless here on the Plateau in Middle Tennessee. I previously had a couple of Ultra Classics with the tourpak antennas and they worked fine here, so I'm thinking that installing a normal antenna will fix this issue. Been banging my head trying to figure out a mounting location.

Hi and welcome Joe. The external antennas do normally work better, but I've heard that some have installed hidden fairing antennas that work very well too. You might want to search the forum for "hidden antenna" or search Amazon for the same and look at the reviews.

Like I said, I have the hidden antenna that apparently came with the fairing/stereo, but as I ride while working a 24 county area in the middle Tennessee mountains, the reception is spotty at best. On my previous dressers with the tour pack antennas I never had this issue.

Barring any other suggestions I may have to consider drilling the rear bumper to mount one.

Do you have a rear bumper on it? If so you could probably rig something up on it. I put a hidden antenna on my 2015 Ultra Limited. It worked pretty good but I can't remember what brand it was. I have read that the HD brand hidden antenna sux's.

Yes, as I mentioned above I do have a rear bumper and considered drilling it to mount one, but I am also looking at this mount for it.

The Amazon solution looks like it should work well. Appears it would provide a clean installation....simply a matter of running the wire to the radio head unit. I use Cardo to listen to music and communicate with the wife on her FatBoy. The radio stations in this area suck.
